Daily Notes on Poetry & Related Matters

26 January 2005: Back to my sad addiction to terminology. I find I don't like "kalruser," my term for recipient of an artwork. The replacement is "aestheriencer," a term I've advanced before and then withdrawn for some reason. "Aestherience" would be what the aestheriencer experiences from an artwork--when he is "aestheriencing" it. "Aestherientially." I don't like the size of the term, but it's pronounceable, and should suggests what it means to most people. "Kalruser" doesn't suggest what it means.

Incidentally, while going through my more recent entries to find out what my latest term for, well, aestheriencer was (I did remember "kalruser" but didn't think I'd made it my term), I was a bit dismayed at how tedious and frequent my entries on terminology were. That gave me an idea. What I may do is collect all my entries on terminology and put them in one file--and do the same with all my entries on what I've done in Paint Shop, and all my entries on other subjects. The result would be a (steady, now) blogdensation. It would help my search engine by reducing the number of files it would have to deal with. It would also get me out of doing the entries I still haven't done for the dates Charley had me off the Internet. My new way of doing the blog would be to do daily entries but after three months, put the entries for the earliest month of the three into files. So my blog would also have between two and three months' worth of entries, but otherwise consist of Subject-Discussions. With some kind of Table of Contents.

I'm still not sure I'll do this, but it makes sense to me right now.
