Daily Notes on Poetry & Related Matters

18 January 2005: The following is a mathemaku I sketched on my trip north in August, a week before the hurricane hit. I finally made a final draft of it at Paint Shop this morning. It was intended to be purely verbal, but then I misdrew the top of what I call the dividend shed, liked what resulted, so kept it, with "sleem" coming out of it--in color. Right now, I think the thing is brilliant, but I'll no doubt have a sounder opinion of it by the time I look at it again.
