Daily Notes on Poetry & Related Matters

2 January 2005: Two days ago, I announced here that I'd coined a new word, "kalosperuser." Noun. KAH lohs puh ROO zer. One who experiences a work of art, or peruses beauty. One who makes a "kalosperusal," (Noun. Perusal of an artwork.) or one who "kalosperuses" (Verb. To peruse an artwork.) Yesterday, I changed that to "Kalruser." (Noun. kal ROO zer. One who peruses a work of art.) I couldn't stand the excessively multi-syllabic verb, "kalosperusing." To "kalruse" is much easier to use though not as suggestive as to what it means, not that "to kaloperuse" was all that better.
