Daily Notes on Poetry & Related Matters

29 December 2004: ater watching a movie in which some characters admired a slogan written in verse, I wanted to write that those who went to poetry for the truths they revealed were philistines (they should go for the beauty they express), I realized that my new term, "kalicipient," yielded no useful verb. I could change it to "kaliceiver," but for some reason that doesn't appeal to me. And the verb, "kaliceive," sounds dumb. Only slightly better is "kalisperiencer," but I'm switching to it--until I can think of something better, something as short as "kaliceiver" that I like more.
