Daily Notes on Poetry & Related Matters

23 December 2004. I got another Christmas present, this one the poem below by Ed Conti--because of my love of prepositions. Pretty funny little thing. I especially like its title. It's from Ed's unfortunately out-of-print collection, Hic Haeku Hoc. (Someday my Runaway Spoon Press really must print The Collected Titles of Edmund Conti!)

WE HOLD THESE PREPOSITIONS

Those days can't be topped
Of that we've no doubt
When we turned, tuned and dropped
On, in and out.
