Daily Notes on Poetry

3 October 2004. Today just a piece I made yesterday, inspired by a visio-poetic impression of T. S. Eliot's "still point" by Endwar that Geof Huth displays and comments on in his blog entry for 9 September 2004, and influenced by Gomringer's famous "silencio." Endwar's piece is a reaction to an earlier piece on the same subject by Huth. This makes mine a Gomringer variation on an Endwar variation on a Huth variation on a T. S. Eliot image. The three follow below, Huth's, then Endwar's, then mine :

Note: the Huth and Endwar are copies I made, not exact replicas--because I didn't know how to download the actual work's from Geof's blog. Naturally, when I first made my copy of Endwar's piece, I had "still" horizontal and "point" vertical. To my credit, I recognized my mistake. It shouldn't matter, but it does. I think because "still" is an adjective, "point" a noun and the more important here of the two words, for which reason it should be dominant, which its being put the way words usually are makes it.

That I seem always to make such mistakes has a signal virtue: it facilitates learning (or should, though in my case?)
