21 June 2004. It's the first day of summer. I had nothing to put in today's entry, so went to Paint Shop to see if I could throw something together. The word, "mirror," popped into my head. It's a rich word I don't think I've used in a mathemaku before--maybe not in any poem, for that matter--so I made it my dividend. Not brimming with imagination, I made a sort of mirror-image of "mirror" as a lavenderish "minion," who knows why, except that the two somewhat resemble each other. Then I made a true mirror-image of the dividend shed. Turning "minion" upside-down seemed required, so I did that, too. To continue with mirroring effects, I next negative-colored the whole mirrored part, something that Paint Shop makes easy and I'm addicted to.
Still uninspired, I made "summer" my divisor because of what day this is, then made a negative image of it that was horizonatally its mirror image, which I put beneath it. I guess I was thinking "summer cottage," by then, which accounts for "bureau drawer." The "drawn curtains" were another simple bedroom image with a touch of mirror play. After addng the background colors, I did some more negative-imaging. The result? I really don't know what to make of it. Something about it I like, but probably only because I vaguely reminds me of some sumertime personal experience it can't possibly remind anyone else of. Although . . . I dunno; I think there's something there, in the illumagery. If I can pin it down, maybe I can reword it into sufficient coherence.
