11 June 2004. Today I picked a title and made a cover for an almost-finished RASPbook (i.e., book published by The Runaway Spoon Press, my one-man company). It's a collection of 12 collaborations between each possible duo of the group consisting of John M. Bennett, Scott Helmes, Kathy Ernst and me. Its title is--well, you can see it on the cover, which I present below:
Strange. Usually, these things look better on my screen than printed out, but this one looks much better in print. The stuff that looks like confetti becomes crisp letters when printed. The image is a Paint Shop variation I did on one of the two Scott Helmes/Kathy Ernst collaborations in the collection. It's much more Paint Shop than I, but I really like it.
The book will go for at least $20 a copy. It was very expensive to put out. I'm only printing twenty copies. Once I have only ten left for sale, the price for each will go up to $100. A silly gesture, I know, but it irks me that a book like this by four name artists could get a lot more although it would almost certainly not be a tenth as good.
