10th anniversary of the Leinebaeren monthly meetings.
On August, 30th 2002 we finally were ready to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Leinebaeren monthly meeting. The Leinebaeren are a group of hunky, beefy bears from Hanover who meet every month to proceed a convivial evening.
I have been once before with the Leinebaeren and because of the nice memories I have brought home, I was really keen for the anniversary... and I was not dissatisfied.
So my Precious and I arrived on Friday evening and we were really happy to meet some known faces. Really nice was the fact to be welcomed by some Bears we did not really remember but they seemed to remember us. The Gildebrauhaus, where they meet regularly is basically a very nice place to meet, but unfortunately it seems like the Innkeeper is not really interested in profits. Not only the prices are extremely high, but the good fellow has bad manners towards his guests. With just one waitress, who was really stressed, there were not enough to serve more than 80 hungry and thirsty bears. But because of the nice sights we did not loose our will to celebrate a great evening and so it happened to be great.
Enrico Lambretta, a glittering Main Figure of the Leinebaeren got a nice bouquet of flowers with a night blue paper decoration, which in fact was more expensive than the flowers :) Unfortunately I was still fighting with my meal, pork filet with mushroom cream, but listening to the sounds from outside I was able to reconstruct the incidents.
Like I mentioned before, there were lots of kind and or beautiful men around. Among others the German Mr. Bear 2002 happened to be around and a delegation of the Hamburg Nordbaeren and the Berlin Spreebaeren made their attendance. I was more than happy to meet some really nice guys from Hanover there so feel cuddled my sweethearts. (I guess they know who I mean)
The evening went on and when it was time to get back to Wolfsburg to the domicile of my beloved, it happened that we found a host to give us opportunity to stay in Hanover to enjoy the stroll through the town the next day.

I think I call this picture Friday Night Fever, as you see Bears are a very convivial and nice species.

The Night went by and morning came. After a abundant breakfast we and our host went to the Kroepke ( a place in town) to meet for the stroll through the town. We arrived and were shocked. The CDU a political party made their election campaign. We had no chance but to wait for the others. Meanwhile we had to watch stupid kids hopping around to ridiculous music, listening to bad sung Karaoke and by the way, in my humble opinion, kids should not be involved into an election campaign for they do not know what it is about. When they started to sing the Niedersachsen anthem it was nearly over with our self-control. Thank God the others arrived and we were ready to go and discover the old city of Hanover. Enrico proved to be a knowing leader and told us funny anecdotes about the highlights of the town.

Here you see us sitting at an old well which has a figure of a smith on top. In the fence, a moveable brass ring is built-in and nobody really knows how he managed it.

The climax of the day was the visit of the Hanover town hall. A diagonal going elevator waited to bring us to the top of its dome, so we could watch the fine panorama sight over Hanover. I am not the bravest and great heights and shaking and rumbling old elevators are some of my problems, so I had some frightening minutes inside the horror chamber, but when we reached the top, the sight was overwhelming. A fresh breeze blew around our noses and due to the clear weather we were able to look really far. My high anxiety at first caused me some trouble but soon I relaxed and I had a lot of fun up there.

As you can see I had my personal hero who would save me from all harm.

After some time we had to say good bye and we waited for the elevator to bring us back to the ground. Have I ever mentioned that I do not like flash lights because on such pictures I mostly look like I was dumb.

In front of the town hall some of the Berlin Spreebaeren waited for us. Some nerd told them the wrong meeting spot but thanks to modern telecommunication they finally found us and altogether we went to the See-Terassen a new open air restaurant at the Maschsee. There we had opportunity to refill our up used resources. Remember, all this was not planned and so I had just the thin muscle shirt you can see on the pictures and no other clothes with m. Well, and in the evenings around September it might be chilly outside, especially at the waters. If I had nobody to cuddle with I might have frozen to death. This way I just shivered a little and I was truly happy when we decided to set out to first have some fried chicken in Kentucky and then to see bed.
Gee I was freezing that night and I was glad to be with company. After a while the night was over and exceptionally I stood up as the last one. Again we had a delicious breakfast. At this point I would like to say a billion thanks to Michael for his hospitality. Around two pm we moved on to the park in town for the bear picnic. This time all the bears seemed to have found the meeting spot for the place was soon crowded with bears and all of them seemed to have plundered their larders. When we arrived at the picnic place a long table was built up and mountains of food were put on it. The table literally bent from the weight and I was scared that the table could break. Well, the table was anyway not enough, so they have put blankets on the lawn and arranged on them what had not found place on the table.

After arranging everything, the run for the buffet began.

Sad to say, but we were not able to stay long enough to enjoy the food, because I had a date with Maren, who agreed to take me home to Hamburg in the evening. Anyway it was an unforgettable and wonderful weekend and I hope to celebrate again with the Leinebaeren soon.
