DA RULZ

1.  This league will be a little different in the fact that no real player names will be used!  Thats right, you heard it, no Big Mac, No Griffey Jr, No Sosa, No noone!  This league will be for the true GM and lover of the Mogul game.  This will test your ability to find the right combination of players to take you all the way.  No one will know who the superstars will be.  It will be up to your scouting and gut instincts on who to acquire and when.  The guy with all the A ratings still might hit .180 for you.  That #1 draft pick might be a bust.  No one will have the comfort of a Griffey/Mac/Sosa.  This will test the true GM's to see if they got what it takes. So ask yourself, "Do I have what it takes?" If the answer is "YES" then email the commish, and give him your city and team name, it can be anything you want.  If the answer is "No" , then go back to the safety of leagues that will use the big names so you can try to acquire them and buy your way to a championship.  Choose wisely.

2.  The season simulations will be run using Baseball Mogul 2000 with a stat patch I have created.  I figure we can run in 2 week incriments.  With Simulations run twice a week.  Most likely Tues and Friday. Change submission cut off time is to be determined.  All MLB rulz apply.   I figure I can link the save file for each 2 week period to this page so everyone can save and do a "resume game" and view everything at that point in time (Most files are only around 300- 600k).  So owning this game or at least the demo is a good idea to be able to view everything in a neat orderly way. (See links to get demo or order the game)

3. Trading will be allowed through the July 31st deadline.  Free Agents my be signed at anytime.  Along with trading, any players acquired in a trade can not be involved in a trade again for 90 days.  This will cause you to make smart trades, someone you plan to have on your team for a length of time, not just acquiring people so you can trade them for someone else.  Contract extensions can happen at any time up till the end of the season where all unsigned will become free agents.  GM's from both teams will need to email the commish with the trade acceptance.  Questionable trades will be reviewed and possibly asked for justification and or aborted by the commish.

4.  A draft will be held at the end of each season with 1 round in acending order from worst to last.  Draft picks may be traded.  A list of players eligible for the draft will be available at the time, and each GM will turn in a Draft Board of players listed from 1-(however many teams there are).  Draft results will be posted. 1 Round is being used to "help" last place teams.  If we expand the draft to more rounds, what's the point of a farm system?

5.  A 2 round free agent bidding war will be held in between seasons also.  The game will generate the amount the players are asking for and how many years.  Yes, if a player is asking for 2 mill a season, you canNOT bid 170k.  GM's my then extend years, or offer more to outbid other GM's.  Any player with only 1 GM bid in the first round will be signed to that team.  If after the 2nd round, 2 GM's have the same bid, they will be contacted by the commish to make 1 final offer to acquire the services of the player.  A list of free agents and their price/yr will be posted.

6.  Each team will start off with the same city stats.  One from the game will be used, which one, I will not say.  I want everyone to start off on the same foot, so when whoever wins the World Series will feel that much better knowing each team had an equal shot at winning.

7.  Owners will be expected to remain in regular communication with the commissioner and other owners. League votes and feedback will be required from time to time. Owners need to advise the commissioner via email when they will be on vacation or absent for extended times. Failing to respond in any single season will result in :
* 1st time : warning
* 2nd time : $1 million fine  + loss of 1 MC
* 3rd time : expulsion from league

8  Mogul credits ( MCs ). Every owner in the league can earn credits - MCs - for actively pursuing a greater role in the league. These MCs can then be traded for team improvements. MCs can be accumulated from one season to the next. The MCs accumulated from the previous season/s can only be used ( cashed in ) at the start of a new season before the first week of play. MCs will be paid for the following :
* 1 for each season in the league.
* 2 for creating a team web page.
* 1 for updating the web page regularly with team reports.
* 1 for writing a mid-season team report ( minimum 150 words ).
* 1 for writing an end of season report ( min. 150 words ).
* 1 for writing a league-based report ( maximum of one per season - 150 word min. )

Distribution of these MC's are yet to be determined.  GM's will be notified.

After each season, a random aspect of your stadium will decline by one level.  Say if your "sight lines are "good" they may fall to "average".  This will simulate wear and tear on a stadium and give the GM's something to use the MC's for, as well as allow monetary upgrades also.  Its a pain keeping a stadium in working order isnt it?  The distibution of the MC's shall be 2 MC's = one upgrade.

9.  I have decided that the DH rule is evil.  Managing a team requires the choices of keeping a hot pitcher in the game, or using a pinch hitter to get that insurance run.  Therefore the DH rule will apply to no one.  This will drive GM's to fill his team with good bats on the bench also, and also wonder which stud RF should he play on a day to day basis.  It will not give the luxury of an offensive player with no Defense being allowed to play freely.  You want the guy in the lineup, find somewhere for him to play defensively too.

Going along with this theme, no players will be allowed to play EXTREMELY out of position.  No CFs will be allowed to play C.  If you have 2 stud CFs, pick one to play CF and the other is on the bench.  Minor position changes will be allowed, ie SS to 2B or RF to LF.
