McFeely has long maintained that he was in Dallas on November 22, 1963, having given Rogers a ride to Texas on the back of his delivery bicycle. His story is corroborated by this AP photograph, taken at Love Field on that fateful day. McFeely confirms that Rogers was carrying a long, paper-wrapped package under his arm. "When I asked him what it was, he told me 'thirty-caliber curtain rods with a four-power telescopic sight,'" McFeely recalls. "I just didn't think much of it at the time."
