Perth guard Anthony Stewart posted nine of his game-high 28 points in the second period as the Wildcats dusted off Illawarra. Connecting on 8-for-13 attempts from three-point range, Stewart equalled the franchise record for treys made held by Mike Ellis, who set the mark in 1985 and equalled it in 1987. The win was Perth's fifth straight over the Hawks, who were led by 21 points each from Terry Johnson and Clayton Ritter. "I thought we were just proffesional tonight, although we did get a bit careless at the end," said Perth coach Adrian Hurley. "We had a lot of foul trouble, so it was good to see our bench come in and keep us in it."
