Canberra overcame a seven-point half-time deficit to win behind Robert Rose, Simon Dwight and Mario Donaldson, who combined for 37 second-half points. Canberra coach Brett Flanigan praised the defensive efforts of Troy Pilon and Paul Denman. "Both Denman and Pilon have come of age tonight, they proved that they were NBL players and we'll be looking at them in future performances," Flanigan said. "It was one of the gutsiest defensive efforts I've ever seen."
