Brisbane 77 - SOUTH EAST MELBOURNE 99

Sam Mackinnon had a fine all-round game finishing with a career-high 29 points on 11-for-14 shooting, six assists, six steals and eight boards as South East Melbourne prevailed for the third straight time on the road to start the season. Playing before a sellout Brisbane Convention Centre crowd, the Bullets were led by Mike McKay, Steve Woodberry and Leroy Loggins, who all finished with 15 points. "The officiating was bad tonight," Woodberry said. "I'm not using the refereeing as an excuse, but we didn't get any good calls. They're a good enough team that they don't need all those calls to win a game."

Brisbane: Woodberry 15, Loggins 15, McKay 15, White 13, Smith 7, Dalton 5, Honeyman 3, Thompson 2, Sibley 2.

South East Melbourne: Mackinnon 29, Tolbert 20, Ronaldson 17, Kelly 14, Dorge 7, Drmic 7, Anstey 5.
