| Michael Winghart - Junior
Michael Winghart Michael is a Junior at Wayne this year. His best time of 16:48 came at the Wayne Invitaional. Michael's mileage over the summer helped him become a "top 5" threat in most of our meets this year. His favorice race was the Wayne Invitational since it's our "home" course. Michael's favorite course is Troy. "I like Troy because the competition was good and that's where the regional meet is held." He ran a 16:50 there. |
Mike chose CC Camp, and both the Mentor and Malone trips as his highlights of the season. In the near future, he just wants to run and continue to improve, but his future plans are to maybe run in college and attempt triathlons too.

Her favorite race was the Troy Inv. but she got her best times at Buck Creek (23:01) and Wayne (23:02). |
When asked about her top 3 favorites this year, Cara listed "my team mates, putt & bowling, and watching the team grow so much since her freshman year." Cara's future plans are to possibly study physical therapy in college. Keep your eyes on the skies, because she says she someday wants to sky dive and bungee jump! | Tom Bertling - Senior
Tom Bertling Tom completed his senior season for Wayne this year. He was one of only three runners to break into the 17:00's this season. His best time of 17:40 came at the Wayne Invitational. That time ranks him 4th best on the "Season Best Times List" for the men. |
Tom's favorite race this season was Beavercreek because it's the first time he feels he ran well there. But his favorite course is Princeton. When asked about the "best" things this year, Tom ranks the two trips (Mentor and Malone) and his personal accomplishment of placing 20th at the W.O.L. meet. Tom isn't finished setting goals for this year. He wants to have a shot at winning the W.O.L. 1600 in track this year. Tom plans to run college cross-country, and hopefully make a varsity team. Tom wants to wish everyone "good luck" next year. (And the same to you Tom! - bc)

| Lisa Jameson - Sophomore
Lisa Jameson Lisa is a sophomore at Wayne. Her best time came at the Warrior Invitational (20:50). This time was the number "1" ranked time for the girls this season. Our course was Lisa's favorite with Troy being a close second. At the end of the season, Lisa is already focusing on next year! She would like to run more |
consistently in the 20's and 21's, but her ultimate H.S. goal is to someday break into the 19's, even if it's 19:59! As Lisa reflected on the 1999 season, she feels the best things about Wayne CC are the friendships and feeling of family. Compared to last year, Lisa feels this year's team was more competitive, which helped push her to better times and position on team. She attributes much of her personal improvement to Tawnie, who helped her work harder in practice and meets. She wants to congratulate all the girls this year. "Everyone did so well, especially the J.V. runners who will challenge some of the varsity spots next year!" Lisa will now switch her focus to basketball. Her goal now is to make the team and continue to stay in shape all winter.
