Marco got off to a great start in his rookie season by scoring a goal in his first game. He also led all Sharks rookies in scoring during the first two months of the season. He did extremely well in the first half of the season and became the NHL's November Rookie of the Month and was the runner up in October. Interestingly enough, Marco's first three goals were game winners, making him one of only five players to accomplish this since the expansion era of 1967. Marco was also the youngest player drafted in the 1996 NHL entry draft at 17 years and 9 months.
On the subject of dating Marco says, "I'd take my date for a nice dinner, maybe see a movie, a romantic movie, not a Schwarzenegger flick, go home, and spend a quiet evening."
Marco really misses German cooking, especially weinerschnitzel.
