Today was Caroline's end of the year piano recital. She has been taking piano lessons from Ms. Hyder the 1st Grade teacher at St. Paul for a year. She has really gotten into it - even more than Kevin did. Ms. Hyder teaches about 15 kids, and so some of the kids were at the same level as Caroline, and played the same songs. So it became obvious how some of the students compared with the others. Caroline did very well - of course. (I am NOT biased!) Most of the kids only had 2 songs. She had 3 songs AND a duet. She asked Ms. Hyder if she could do a duet with me. She memorized her part, and I didn't. So instead of pulling out the music, I decided to try and just play along. Well, She played her part perfectly, as usual,  and Dad... well, at least I didn't embarrass her. I kept the beat and we played "She'll Be Comin Round the Mountain" once regular speed and once ridiculously fast. Good job Caroline! You ROCK!
