So tomorrow night is the JFK sponsored Catholic Grade School Band Concert. About 11 different Catholic schools from the south King County area are annually gathered together in JFK High School's gym to play under the direction of Ms. McKamey who teaches music to all of them! She taught music to Kevin, who will be playing in the Honor Band and the regular band as an 8th Grader. He has been in Band since 5th grade. Anyway, I teach piano to 4 kids on Wedenesdays, and this year the Band Concert is on Wednesday. Since Kevin will be in his last band concert, I had to reschedule everyone's lesson to another day. No probelmo. Why? Because 2 of the 4 kids are ALSO in the school band, and 1 of the kids is a sibling. So I really only had one student who wasn't connected in some way with this Band Concert, and the parents had no problem moving because they knew that NEXT year, their child TOO would be playing in this same Band Concert! It's all good!
