Another fan favorite was Curtis Joseph. He was one of the best goalies the Blues ever had. I've been lucky to see him play every time he has been in town. Curtis played for the Blues from the 1989-1990 season to the 1994-1995 season. I was lucky to see Curtis after his March 9th win over St. Louis for Edmonton.Curtis recieved another shut out to his record when he shut out the Blues 3 to 0 on November 20th.
Cujo is in the playoffs again, but this time it is for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He's not doing very well against Bufflo.

With three kids of his own, little wonder that
Curtis Joseph would say he loves "doing
things with kids." What he holds just as dear,
however, is doing things for them, and once
again this year, on July 9, the nine-year NHL
veteran staged the Curtis Joseph Charity Golf
Classic in Newmarket, Ontario, to raise funds
for the Children's Wish Foundation of
Canada. The Foundation provides once in a
lifetime experiences for children suffering
from high-risk, life-threatening illnesses, and
this year marked the sixth straight summer
that the 31-year-old goaltender has helped
raise money by hosting a golf tournament.
Before teeing off for the event, the native of
Keswick, Ontario, spoke about this year's
tournament and the reason he holds such an
event. He also spoke about other causes he's
involved with throughout the year.
Can you give us some background on
your tournament?
"This is the sixth year that we're doing it and I
think the last four years have been for the
Children's Wish Association. We've had a
great time doing it. Me and my buddy, Marty,
run the tournament. He does most of the work
and I show up. But it's a good partnership. But
the last couple years I think we've raised
close to $30,000 each year. So for us, that's
a great feeling and I think it's a pretty
successful tournament."
What made you choose Children's Wish
as the beneficiary?
"Well, I love doing things with kids. In
Edmonton, we have the Cujo's Cloud Nine
box for the kids and this is a great cause. The
people at Children's Wish have been
tremendously helpful and supportive and it's
just a great charity to work for."
Any memorable moments from previous tournaments?
"There's been a few. I remember when
Dennis Hull was out here and he did our
auction and he's tremendously funny. We've
had some great times and some bad golf and
some good jokes. So it's been a lot of fun."
Why did you originally start up this tournament?
"Well, I love to play golf and a lot of my friends
love to play golf and what better way for a
bunch of people to get out on the golf course
and raise money for a good charity like the
Children's Wish. I live right here, near the golf
course, and the golf course helps me out a
lot. It's just a great day for our family and all
our friends."
Are you involved in any other
fund-raising golf tournaments during the summer?
"There's a few that we are involved in but not
as involved as this one. This one takes up a
lot of time and usually is one of our highlights
of the summer and probably our main focus
for charity work in the summer."
How important do you think it is for players like yourself to organize tournaments like this one?
"It's really important. Just coming here and
seeing all the excitement on everybody's
faces and to get out here and play a round in
this scorching heat to raise money for a great
cause like the Children's Wish. Everybody
has fun, everybody has a good time
afterwards at the banquet and everybody wins."
What other charitable foundations are
you involved with? What is Cujo's Cloud Nine box?
"Cujo's Cloud Nine is something my wife and
I really believe in. My agent, Donnie Meehan,
proposed a great idea. It was to get children
who are in hospitals, or terminally ill, or
long-care patients in the hospitals, into a box,
out to a game and really enjoy themselves.
Popcorn, hot dogs and whatever they want. A
lot of times, kids can't get out of the hospitals
and the Children's Health Foundation out in
Alberta has been tremendous to work for. It's
been a great experience and if it gives the
kids some ounce of hope or a good night out
to watch a hockey game then we've done our job."
Last question, maybe the most important
one, how good of a golfer are you?
"Well I should be better but I love to play the
game and I love to get out. Today is no
exception. It's going to be great. We're doing
all this for charity and I love to play golf so it's
a great day all the way round."
