Info on the city of São Paulo
Many people outside South America may think São Paulo is a small village in
the middle of the Rain Forest, but actually it's the second largest city in
the world (the first is Tokyo). The city was founded in January 25, 1554 by
Manuel da Nóbrega. It was named a city in 1711, but didn't grow as fast as
the rest of the other cities until late 1800s. The current population is
ca. 19.000.000.Some of the most important places in São Paulo are: Paulista Ave., the Modern Art and the Independency Museum, the Martinelli Building, the Ibirapuera Park, but there are many other atractions. You can find here very good food and hotels.
