Remember when you were young and skinny and the neighbourhood bully would come over and beat the crud out of you for your goodies, and all you wanted to do was get back at him but your parents wouldn’t want you to get hurt but you didn’t feel like being a wimp so you stood up to him, got pounded but won their respect that you’re not the type to mess with, well, that’s what it felt like yesterday, Dave pitched a great game, but Rural Metro (especially their number 4 hitter) killed us with several long balls. We had great plays in the infield, (Rich gets my vote as the player of the game with Cat like movement, snagging the balls like Hasek stopping a blistering slap shot from Brett Hull (this is probably not a good visual since Hull beat Hasek last night)) We match them hits per hits, run per run until the late innings when they were able to place the ball inches away from our brave outfielders and hammered out 8 more runs to stop us 22-15. Still, the lost was not futile, it showed us that we don’t give up, even when we were behind early in the game. We chipped away their lead to tie the game, and we put the dump in their diapers as we threaten to knock them out of their winning streak of 1 game. All in all, a good attempt that shows that we’re the best 0-2 team so far. Next week’s opponent, Mc Alpin (The Rural Metro team beat them 11-1) in the first game. So give yourself a pat on the back, we did great in the game!
