,I was co-host of the morning show from 1987- 1990 on WGLS-FM, Glassboro. The morning show featured live and "phoned in interviews" with celebrities and people who did unsual things. We also did alot of chatting on current events and happenings in our lives. I did this show with Howard Rosenblatt and Karen Thomas in 1987. I then did the show with Keith Gale and Karen Thomas in 1988-1990. On the morning show we also broadcast live from apartments, the mens room, and many other wild locations. During one of these live broadcasts I got sick on-the-air, literally sick on-the-air. Another time a kitchen caught on fire while we were broadcasting. It was also during the morning show that we had Dick Vitale in the studio with us, as well as Morton Downey, we also interviewed Charles Grodin, Adrian Cronauer (from Good Morning Vietnam), Pee Wee Herman and many other people in the news. We also broadcast our own radio plays and did celebrity voices on this show.
My favorite part of the morning show was producing the show as well as co-hosting. We got to talk to some wild people who did wild things all over the U.S. Some of my favorite moments include: eating dogfood, broadcasting live from Keith's apartment, talking to a guy who counted up to 2 billion on his typewriter, the guy that cleans Mt. Rushmore, a cow chip tossing champ, and tons more.
When I first met Keith I said we have to do a show together beacuse of his abilty to improvise anything. We made a great team beacuse Keith is probably the funniest person I have ever met. His ability to pull stuff out of his ass and make people laugh is amazing. All I had to do was plan the show, the guests and do the news stories and Keith did the rest. Keith has the abilty to make any person or situation funny, that is amazing to me and still makes me laugh thinking about the stuff he has said and things we have done. I did all the pre-planning and told Keith that morning what we were going to do and the rest became radio history.
I learned on this show how important "working the phones" is and how entertaining it can be if done properly. My night show was a hardrock/heavy metal format that was all-request and had alot of involvement with the callers on the phone. During this show there were many live "co-hosts" in the studio including Dann "the Metalman", Howard Rosenblatt, Fred Cilurso, Norm Donahue, Anthony Azzarano, as well as anyone else who called and wanted to pay us a visit in the studio. Some of the highlights of the nightshow were broadcasting in an apartment on a balcony, having a fireworks display, then being arrested for disturbing the peace by the local police. Playing trivia games, talent over the phone and anything else we could think of to involve the listeners. This show was always wild and unpredictable, thats why people were into it so much. People thought we drank in the studio because we were so nuts, but we never drank until after the show. The callers were the stars of the show everynight, all I did was steer them along. It was unusual for a small station to get the volume of calls this show got. it was insane the responce we got from the callers.
Through this show I got to meet a lot of the stars of rock-n-roll like Kiss, Motley Crue, Billy Squier, Metallica and a ton more. Just like the morning show I planned what we would talk about or what the game would be for the night and the callers took the show on from their. We moved things all over the place during this show.
This is also where I got his first play-by-play experience announcing the games on the Radio. During this time(1985-1990), I announced football, basketball, baseball, softball and soccer.
I learned that announcing for TV and radio are two different things. If you listen to one of my radio play-by-play calls you will hear that I am more descriptive. On TV, I let the pictures tell the story.
In 1989, I was named the Program Director which put me in charge of programming the entire station. The experience at Glassboro helped lead me to my radio experience in Atlantic City and Wildwood.

In October of 1999 Howard Rosenblatt and myself were asked to comeback and recreate our radio shows from the 80's. So we invited Fred Cilurso, my producer to come back with us and we relived some of our best moments and played some music from back when we were on the radio.
