Tigers Dominate

The Marshfield Tigers started their season off very well. Competing in a triangular meet against Wisconsin Rapids and Wausau West. Marshfield placed first in every event except two. The tigers started the meet out in the 200 Medley placing first and third.  Eric Swanson  won the 200 free with a time of 2:20.55 . John Welch came in a close second with a time of 2:22.30.  Swanson and Welch were over 25 meters ahead of their closest competitor. In the next event Aaron Cummings and Dennis Evert went one two in the 200 I.M. Cummings won with a time of 2:32.23 and Evert clocked a 3:00.20. In the 50 free Marshfield would go one two again with Gene Chyou placing first with a 28.17 and Alex Larson placed second with a 28.98. After the break Adam Hulke continued the winning streak with a first place finish in the 100 Fly  while Kyle Swanson came in a very close second behind Hulke. In the 100 Free Larson placed first with Ian Marks coming in third.  Eric Swanson and Welch dominated the 500 Free lapping every other competitor. Welch finished first, Swanson second. In the 200 Free Relay Marshfield placed second and third. Cummings placed first  in the 100 back while  Kyle Swanson came in third. Dennis Evert took a second in the 100 Breast  and Ian Marks placed third. In the final event of the night Marshfield took first in the 400 Free Relay and third. Marshfield won the meet with a 159 points. West took second with 79 points and  Wisconsin Rapids had 39 points. Next Thursday the tigers will take on SPASH at home.
