Purdue Boilermakers

3/12 Update: Here are the game grades from the Purdue game on Friday.

Andy Kowske: B
Kowske was a solid presence on offense, defense, and on the boards, hitting for 10 points, 8 rebounds, and harrassing Brian Cardinal into a 4 for 12 shooting night. Has continued to add range to his jump shot.

Charlie Wills: B
Another solid bench performance for Charlie, and he has been playing solid interior defense (and using his 5 fouls wisely) while also supplying a little offensive support (7 points).

Roy Boone: B-
Limited by foul trouble, Boone was effective in generating an offensive spark when he was on the court, especially in getting to the line. 6 points and 2 assists in 11 minutes is a valuable contribution.

Mike Kelley: A
When Kelley adds offensive to his outstanding defensive play, the Badgers are REALLY in business. Kelley put his usual clamps on Jaraan Cornell and snatched 4 steals. Offensively, he shot the ball well in rhythm and executed a number of nice cuts to the hoop on his way to 14 points with 5 assits and only 1 turnover.

Jon Bryant: D
Limited minutes and wasn't terribly effective when he did play, with a missed front end of a one and one and a turnover.

Mark Vershaw: A
Vershaw was the man on offense once again with 22 points on just 7 shots, primarily because he was able to get to the line 12 times. Mark has become a deadly 3 point shooter if left open, adding a valuable threat to his game. He also distributed the ball well with 6 assists and did a servicable job on the glass (5 rebounds).

Maurice Linton: D
Like Boone, Maurice was hampered by foul trouble. Was not a major factor on either end of the court when he was in there.

Travon Davis: D-
Missed both his shots and had 2 turnovers in 5 minutes.

Duany Duany: C-
Had a little trouble with Robinson's strength inside and was erratic shooting the ball, but 9 points with only 1 turnover for Doc is an acceptable game.

Kirk Penney: A
Finally, Kirk gave the team some valuable minutes after a lengthy slump. Hit 2 of 4 jumpers, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, AND NO TURNOVERS, taking most of Bryant's minutes and doing a super job across the board.
