Andy Kowske: F
Foul trouble again limited his minutes, yet he still found time to commit 3 turnovers. While Cline-Heard did most of his damage while Kowske was out, Andy didn't exactly exert his will defensively either.
Charlie Wills: B
Gave the team a nice offensive lift with Kowske out of the game for long stretches, scoring 12 points. He had some trouble with Cline-Heard's quickness on the offensive glass.
Roy Boone: B
A nice mixture of inside and out for Boone, with a good dose of free throws inbetween led to a team high 16 points on 4-10 shooting. Roy's game has really settled in nicely and consistently at about 15 points, 5 boards, a couple assists, and 6-8 free throw attempts per game. He also continued his solid floor game with only 2 turnovers. The one negative in Boone's game was that I didn't think he inbounded the ball very well against the press, being called for one 5 second call when he didn't pick up the ball quickly enough. Ivory hit some shots over the top of Roy, but for the most part Boone made him earn his points.
Kirk Penney: C+
Penney got off to a pretty quick start, but his shot stopped falling and Soderberg had to look for other options. Penny did a pretty nice job of holding his own defensively as well against the quicker PSU guards.
Mike Kelley: A-
Kelley got into some trouble early with some handchecking fouls on Crispin, but forced Crispin further and further away from the basket as the game progressed. For the game, Crispin shot 5 for 18. Offensively he was sloppy early, though he finished with 9 points (and a big triple) and 4 assists so he was productive.
Ricky Bower: INC
Played 2 minutes and couldn't find a shot.
Mark Vershaw: B-
Vershaw didn't really look to score, taking only 6 shots for the game. However, he did a nice job of distributing the ball from the wing and high post (4 assists). He also did a solid job on the defensive boards with 8 rebounds total (though PSU is not a very good rebounding team). On the downside, Vershaw had 4 turnovers, many of which came while handling the PSU press at the end of the game.
Maurice Linton: C-
Bad matchups defensively limited Linton's time on the court, not to mention a struggling shot (1 for 5). He did get to the line (and hit 5 of 6) and was solid on the glass.
Travon Davis: C
Matched up with Joe Crispin while Kelley was out and didn't drown, though Joe put a few nice moves on him. Offensively Travon had a couple of his patented suicide drives that he didn't finish, though he played 10 minutes turnover free.
Dave Mader: C
Came in for a brief first half spell and gave the team some energy, with 3 quick rebounds and an active presence on the offensive glass. However, he missed two bunnies that he needs to make.
