Here are the game grades:

Andy Kowske: C
Andy just couldn't get his shot to drop. He missed jumpers. He missed interior bunnies. He missed free throws. This makes it hard to give him a great grade, though the rest of his game was pretty solid with 8 rebounds and pretty solid defensive work.

Mike Kelley: B
Kelly was knocking down jumpers for the first time in his career, and looked to attack the defense when appropriate. However, he was uncharacteristically careless with the ball, resulting in 3 turnovers.

Defensively, he started out on Brown and shut him down, though he was switched to the Polish kid in order to contain him (which he for the most part did other than one foul).

Roy Boone: B-
Roy really makes things tough on Bennett. On one hand, he offers a dimension that nobody else on the current roster does but on the other he is prone to careless lapses and/or overagressive forces (3 turnovers). He had some of both today.

Roy's jumper wasn't consistently falling (3-10), but he wasn't a complete zero shooting the ball and hit some clutch free throws down the stretch. He had 6 rebounds which was been a key with Linton out.

Mark Vershaw: C-

Once again, really didn't get the number of touches I would have liked to have seen (only 8 shots), especially in the low blocks. However, his passing was tremendous (4 assists).

Vershaw was not aggressive on the boards with only 1 rebound all day, which was why Mader got solid time in the second half IMO.

Kirk Penney: B
For the most part, Penney did a nice job of picking his spots offensively. He squared up well and provided a consistent outside threat. He also added 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

Defensively, Penney was a little soft on the perimeter, forcing Mike Kelley to be switched over to Sewasciuk, at which time Brown made a nice run. However, in Penney's defense, they were hitting some very impressive shots. Kirk's defense wasn't tremendous, but it wasn't awful either.

Ricky Bower: D
Couldn't get his shots in reasonable spots, pushing him to 2-3 feet beyond the 3-point line, a range he did not seem comfortable with.

Freddie Owens: B
Only saw spot play, but handled the ball well and had a nice garbage hoop under the basket to go with an assist.

Charlie Wills: B
Hit a couple of jumpers to give the offense a lift, and was generally solid all around. Consistency is the key with Charlie, and he is looking to be a solid 15-20 minute/game alternative.

Dave Mader: A
Mader was exceptionally active and gave the team a great lift. He grabbed 8 rebounds in only 10 minutes, scored 7 points, had an assist, and even hit a 17 foot jumper. Dave missed a couple of bunnies, which is all that kept him from an "A+".
