2/6 Update:
However, here are the game grades from the basketball game yesterday against Minnesota:
Andy Kowske: B-
Was out of control a few times after being bumped in the lane (good for a few turnovers), but was instrumental in keeping Wisconsin in the game with two big jumpers in the second half. His defense on Przybilla was fair. Przybilla got the ball too deep a few times, but given the size differential and the fact that they were on the road, I wouldn't call it terrible.
Charlie Wills: D
His play was limited as he committed 3 fouls in just 9 minutes. Didn't force shots or commit stupid turnovers, but didn't really add much either.
Roy Boone: A-
Other than one errant pass, Boone was pretty solid the entire game. His outside jumper wasn't pure, but he got a bounce or two and was able to get to the hoop, hitting on 6 of 10 shots. Added some support on the boards and made some outstanding passes. Oh by the way, also hit the gamewinner near the buzzer.
Kirk Penney: F
Totally out of sorts. Turnovers...fouls...zero points.
Mike Kelley: C-
Once again got into foul trouble on a few silly reaches, causing him to sit out too much of the game. Also was not Kelley like with the ball, committing 3 turnovers. Did get a ton of loose balls however and was a steadying influence against the press. Kelley is needed on the floor, even when he isn't playing as well as he can.
Jon Bryant: C
Hit a clutch jumper in the final minute after having another tough night shooting. Also passed up a couple of shots he needs to take. Still, his 12 points were needed (aided by 4 technical foul free throws).
Mark Vershaw: A
I think Vershaw is really coming into his own and deserves some mention (3rd team??) on the All-Big Ten team. Hit 2 of 3 perimeter jumpers and was outstanding around the basket against a premier shot blocker. Also was his usual excellent passer and did a decent job getting his hands on some balls defensively.
Maurice Linton: C
Is showing signs (though subtle) of coming out of his season long slump with some aggressive (yet controlled) play in limited minutes. Made a strong move to the hole for a bucket, though was tentative once under the hoop leading to a travel. Gave the team some minutes when other guys had some fouls.
Travon Davis: D
Committed some really bad turnovers once again, with 4 in only 15 minutes. Isn't a bad replacement for when Kelley is in foul trouble, though can't be relied on in long stretches at this point in his career.
Duany Duany: D+
Actually passed the ball fairly well in his time, though the jumper still wasn't falling.
