UW-Milwaukee Panthers
December 16, 2000

Here are the game grades:

Andy Kowske: C
Kowske was a non-factor offensively and on the glass. However, he did a super job (with double team help) on UWM center Chad Angeli, limiting to not a single shot while Kowske was in the game.

Charlie Wills: B
Solid minutes out of Wills, primarily in the area of rebounding (where he had 10). He also kept alive a number of possessions via tipped balls. He added 12 points, primarily from the charity stripe following rebounding fouls on UWM. Had a team high 2 assists, but also 3 turnovers.

Roy Boone: B
Boone didn't get as many shots as he has become accostomed to, but shot the ball when the opportunities arose. Once again, he was a threat from 3-point land, drilling 2 of 3 on his way to 15 points. Roy also had a solid game on the glass (6), though his assist turnover ratio was a poor 0/4.

Kirk Penney: D
For the second game in a row, Kirk had a hard time finding shots in the offense and struggled when he did get looks (1 for 4). Solid game on the boards, but seemed a step slow on defense in terms of getting out on shooters on the perimeter. Also had 3 turnovers.

Mike Kelley: B-
Kelley did a solid defensive job on Clay Tucker despite missing some time due to foul trouble. Penetrated early for a nice dish and a nifty bucket, but settled into a more traditional role for him as the game progressed. Finished with 3 steals.

Mark Vershaw: C-
Vershaw just can't get his shots to drop. He did a nice job of creating shots on the block, but simply couldn't finish. Mark also missed 2 of 3 free throws which accentuated his troubles.

Ricky Bower: C-
Made 3 of 3 shots, though UWM did a nice job of limiting his looks. Ricky really struggled defensively, allowing dribble penetration a number of times and losing his man totally once for a layup. Like most of the team, also had 2 turnovers.

Freddie Owens: C
Didn't really do anything on the court to help the team in a positive fashion, though he did give the team 7 error free minutes when Kelley had to sit on the bench.
