Here are the game grades:
Andy Kowske: C
Didn't really get much shot opportunities with so many other players looking for shots, but was very assertive on the offensive glass. However, Andy had a season high 5 turnovers. Did a nice job of negating any Marquette inside presence, though they don't really have too many threats.
Charlie Wills: C
Didn't get many minutes in general. Took a very bad shot late in the game that warranted a tongue lashing from Coach Soderberg. Was effective on the defensive boards.
Roy Boone: A-
Roy continues to consistently hit the perimeter jumper in addition to his ability to create off the dribble. Did a solid job on Wardle when Kelley was out with foul trouble. Only real blemish was a force in the middle of the lane that resulted in a charge.
Kirk Penney: F
Penney's shot looked good upon release, but just couldn't get anything to drop (0 for 6). Also missed 3 straight free throws and seemed to be getting down before being pulled for the remainder of the game.
Mike Kelley: B-
Did a good job of limiting Wardle's shots (Wardle scored 6 of his points while Kelley was out of the game) and had 5 steals as a result of his quick hands inside. Didn't look for his shot, and had too many turnovers (3), though 2 of them were on steals where he was trying to save the ball. He also was in foul trouble (though 2 were dreadful calls).
Mark Vershaw: B-
Vershaw was solid offensively, providing the only real inside offensive presence for the Badgers. Once again, Vershaw did a nice job of ball rotation. Defensively, he had some trouble with Nnamaka's quickness.
Ricky Bower: C
Couldn't get his shot off. Made his free throws.
Freddie Owens: C
Only played the final minute of the first half and allowed a Wardle jumper.
Maurice Linton: D
Hit his first three but forced a number of other shots from long range later. Didn't really establish a game in the post or from 15 feet in. Was very careless with the ball late, resulting in two late turnovers allowing MU to get back in the game.
Travon Davis: B
Was unspectacular but steady in his play at the point. Travon saw solid minutes down the stretch. Hit both his free throws and finished one layup.
