Here are the game grades:

Roy Boone: D
Boone had a tough time against the aggressive defense of Jeff Newton. Newton was too long to shoot over on the perimeter, but quick enough to take away Boone's dribble drives. Boone was also not credited with an assist (though I know he dished out for one of Bower's 3's), which accentuated just how much trouble Roy had. Boone did do a better job of recovering to the perimeter defensively, though obviously guaring Fife wasn't exactly a rough assignment.

Andy Kowske: B-
Kowske did a better job of pushing Haston out on the floor for the most part, while also not surrendering the uncontested 3-pointer. Haston had his points, but a couple buckets were garbage hoops and Haston did not shoot a great percentage. Offensively, he was not much of a factor, with only a couple garbage type buckets.

Charlie Wills: C
Wills had the lane violation of course, but did provide the team a lift late in the game in the Badgers' frantic effort at a comeback, getting 3 late 3 pointers (one via the traditional method) and generally scrapping all over the floor. Wills, like Kowske, did a solid job on Haston and Jeffries.

Kirk Penney: D+
Penney was mirrored by Fife and had a hard time finding shots at times, though when he did get open looks he didn't consistently knock them down (1 for 6 from 3). Defensively he was forced to guard Newton a fair amount of the time, which was a tough matchup for him, particularly in keeping him off the offensive boards (though Penney did have 5 defensive rebounds).

Mike Kelley: C
Did a nice job on Coverdale, particularly in keeping him out of the lane on his power drives while also finishing with 3 steals. Offensively he really looked for his shot, aggressively looking to drive to the rim but being forced into tough shots. Kelley shot only 2 for 8 from the field, though had 3 assists to only 1 turnover.

Mark Vershaw: C+
Vershaw finally exerted himself on the inside, though too late to make a big difference in the game, finishing with 10 points, most of them late. He also dished out 5 assists to attempt to jump start the offensive. Defensively, he did a better job on Jeffries than the last time they played, forcing him to shoot the jumpers, but he did give up a couple of offensive boards.

Maurice Linton: D-
Linton was really needed to step up and provide offensive, but just couldn't find his stroke (1 for 6). He also committed his routine traveling violation, blatantly failed to block out once and gave up a back cut layup.

Travon Davis: D
Had an early drive/hoop and distributed the ball well early (3 assists), but later had a bad over and back violation to go with 2 or 3 forced suicide drives that resulted in turnovers. A point guard just has to be steadier than what he showed.

Ricky Bower: C-
Gave the team an early lift with two big three pointers, but had his trouble on defense, often arriving just in time to foul.
