Badgers allow most points in over five years

First, before I get to the specific player game grades, let me say that nearly all the Badgers could have done a better job of closing out on the IU shooters. To spare redundancy, I am not going to list that for each player. However, there comes a point at which you can't blame the defensive effort (though it wasn't very good overall) and you just have to hand it to the other team. When your opposition shoots 33-47 from the field, doesn't miss a free throw, and makes 14-19 3-point shots, I believe that to be the case. Here are the game grades:
Roy Boone: C-
Was defended by Fife for most of the game and did not get many unmolested looks. As a result, other than a few shots from the blocks, Roy was pretty much taken out of the game offensively. Was called for a couple of fouls on IU drives, though they were borderline calls. He did take care of the ball and had a couple of nice strips on defense as well as a team high 4 assists.
Andy Kowske: B-
Had a nice game on the offensive end, especially in his ability to free himself for interior dishes. Allowed Haston to receive the ball too easily, at which point there isn't much he can do against a talented offensive player like Haston. Did a better job late, though at that point IU was just launching the threes.
Charlie Wills: C
Had equal trouble with Haston, though seemed to be a little more physical that Kowske early on. Wills launched one early bad shot but hit couple jumpers.
Kirk Penney: B-
Has a nice little run in the latter part of the first half where he got Wisconsin back in the game with some tough jumpers. After that, he had a hard time getting looks when Fife switched onto him. When his teammates did not pick him up, he forced a few shots late and committed 4 turnovers, primarily on forcing the ball when nothing else was available.
Mike Kelley: C
Was caught in no-man's land against Coverdale. Every time he tried to give help, Coverdale hit a bomb. When he stuck to him, Coverdale dished to an open teammate. All in all, not a great defensive performance for Mike, but as with the rest of the IU team, give credit to Coverdale. Offensively Kelley hit an open jumper and made a couple of aggressive moves to the hole.
Mark Vershaw: D
Soft again inside on offense and had a hard time matching up with Jeffries on the perimeter. Since he wasn't going to be able to stay with Jeffries on the perimeter, he played off him. The only problem was Jared was uncharacteristically strong shooting the ball. Did not have many touches and was somewhat sloppy with the ball. Did not play much in the second half.
Maurice Linton: D
Had a bad game defensively, losing his man a couple of times completely for layups. Linton's big asset on offense is his ability to rebound offensively, but today he was kept off the glass nicely by IU.
Travon Davis: D
On his first drive, had a bad turnover on an ill-advised drive. On his second one, he missed the shot. On his third, he was fouled and to his credit made both free throws. However, 2 points on three drives is NOT a good percentage. Missed his only shot from the perimeter.
Dave Mader: D
Looked awkward on his one post move and fumbled a potential defensive rebound.
Freddie Owens: D
Out of control on a late drive when he attempted a reverse.
Kyle Grusczynski: INC
