Two of the young lions in the AICW have made it past the first round and semi-final, and now "Big D" Devon Burke will take on "The Canadian Cougar" Rory Christianson!! Andru: These young guys have impressed me so far, but we'll see how they can hold up here tonight! Dan: Let's go to Andy Burton for the introduction! Andy: This contest is scheduled for one fall, and is for the INOKI CUP!!! Introducing first, weighing 242 pounds, from Tuscon, Arizona, "BIG D"DEVON BURKE!!! Dan: Devon Burke coming down to the ring with a very business-like expressionon his face! This man has gone through the feisty Alex Raptor, the very tough"Sadistic" Steven Dunne, and now he faces "The Canadian Cougar" Rory Christianson! Andru: This should be a great technical matchup. Both men pretty much equal in every category--power, speed, agility. Dan: Both men have deep amateur backgrounds, Burke with the martial arts and kick-boxing, and Rory with a strong wrestling background, so this should be a very competitive fight! Andy: And his opponent...led to the ring by Coach Hill, from Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, weighing 258 pounds, "THE CANADIAN COUGAR" RORY CHRISTIANSON! Dan: Rory Christianson also looking very determined to win the Inoki Cup!! This man went through another great Canadian athlete, Daron Foley, in round one! Then he went on to defeat one of the best in our sport, and up until then, the odds-on-favorite to win the Inoki Cup, "Golden Boy" Johnny Smith! Andru: I love it! I wish I could see the expression on that morons face right now! I'm picking Rory to take this one...just because. Dan: What a great contest this is gonna be as we see Rory Christianson step through those ropes! The Inoki Cup is in the center of the ring, and standing next to it, Antonio Inoki himself!! I believe he has some pre-match comments to make before the contest! Antonio Inoki (translated on the bottom of the screen): Ladies and gentlemen, it is my priviledge to welcome American Internet Championship Wrestling to Japan. To have the AICW name this cup and title after me is my greatest honor. I am impressed with the skills of these athletes today and I wish you, Devon Burke and Rory Christianson, a great contest. May the best man win! Dan: Referee Peter Kaplan will be refereeing the action and he calls for the bell, this one is underway! Dan: Devon Burke charging Rory Christianson! Both men throwing fists, exchanging blow for blow! It looks like Devon Burke is gaining the upper-hand! Burke is like a rabid dog!! Rory is backed into the corner, and now he ducks under the ropes, and referee Peter Kaplan forces him away! What intensity shown by Burke in the opening moments! Andru: Intense, but he's wasting his energy! He's gonna pay for it later on in this match! Come the 15 or 20 minute mark, Burke may be gasping for breath! Dan: Rory Christianson still leaning under the top rope, conversing with Coach Hill! Rory nods in agreement of something, and he's back to the action. Burke moving in once again, and he takes a quick swipe at Rory, who ducks out of the way! Both men quick as cats! We've got a great amateur style showdown in the ring now! Burke in a kickboxer's stance, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike! Christianson is crouched over, with his arms extended, waiting to grab a hold of Burke! Andru: This is great! Both men feeling each other out! Dan: Burke faking a kick, but Rory doesn't flinch! Both men waiting for the perfect opportunity! Look at the intensity in the eyes of these men! They're completely focused on this contest! Christianson reaches out a hand,but Burke out of the way! Devon with a kick, it goes high over Christianson's head! Rory pounces in! He takes Burke down with a double leg tackle!! Andru: Wrestlers will ALWAYS beat kickboxers! Dan: Christianson on top, pounding away!!! Devon trying to get in some shots to the head as well! Rory Christianson is like a house of fire! Burke now trying to block those crushing blows with one hand while trying to grab one of Rory's fists! He grabs Christianson's right hand, and he's hooked his right leg around Rory's knee! Devon flips Christianson over!! There's a right hand to the midsection, and now Burke on top of Rory! Andru: That's a counter perfected by Royce Gracie! Dan: Indeed it is! Burke pounding away, and Christianson worms his way over to the ropes! Referee Peter Kaplan grabs Devon's right arm, and he pulls him off Rory! Andru: Good job this Kaplan is doing here! Dan: Referee Peter Kaplan has made it very clear that he will not tolerate any outside interference in this contest! Christianson getting to his feet, and Burke immediately nails him with an open hand chop! That blow echoed through the Tokyo Dome, and Devon scoops Rory up and slams him to the canvas! Burke wasting no time in bringing Christianson back to his feet, and heexecutes an uppercut to the stomach, and sets up Rory for a piledriver!!! What execution on the part of Devon Burke! He agains pulls Christianson to his feet,and nails him with a nice German suplex into a bridge!! ONE...........Rory rolls out of it! Andru: It's gonna take more than that to put Christianson away! Dan: Both men go to the ropes! Devon ducks under a clothesline! Both men hit the ropes again, and Rory with a beautiful flying leg scissors takedown! That's the signature move of Antonio Inoki, and this crowd is responding to it! Burke's neck bounced up off that mat, and he's still down on the canvas! Christianson with a stomp to the back of the head, and he pulls Devon up! Irish whip by Rory. Burke comes off the ropes, and Christianson with a brutal snapmare! Andru: He THREW Devon to the mat by his neck! Dan: Nice move by Rory! Devon slowly getting to his feet as Christianson goes to the ropes! Rory with a nice reverse neckbreaker! Christianson is an expert at making simple moves like hat hurt! Andru: That's right. He used the momentum of the ropes to power that reverse neckbreaker! Dan: Rory now with a cover. ONE........TWO........Burke kicks out! Christianson grabs a handful of hair and pulls Devon to his feet! Rory with a side headlock! He's grinding Burke's head continuously, again showing his ring savvy! Andru: Most guys just leave the headlock on and do nothing about it! Christianson gives you a cauliflowered ear! Dan: Devon trying to push Rory off, and Christianson lets the momentum carry into a bulldog! Smart move by Rory! Christianson now bringing Burke to his feet, he attempts a belly-to-back suplex! Devon blocks it! Burke with a back elbow smash, and he turns around and plants Rory with a DDT!! Quick thinking by Devon! Burke scoops Christianson up again, and delivers with a nice powerslam! Devon back in control of this match! Burke pulls Rory up,and sends him to the ropes with an Irish whip! Devon catches him with a crushing side suplex! Cover by Burke! ONE...........TWO...........NO! Christianson able to kick out! Andru: You've gotta hook the leg if you want to get the three count! Dan: Burke to his feet, he waits for Rory to get up as well. He nails Christianson with a boot to the midsection, and a reverse knife edge chop! He drops to his knees and headbutts Rory in the gut, and Devon goes to the ropes! He plants a dropkick right in the kisser! Christianson falls to the mat! Burke looks poised to win this match! He brings Rory to his feet once again, and sends him to the ropes! Devon leaps in the air for a frankensteiner! BOO-YAA! Christianson caught him in midair and dropped him with a power bomb!! What a lightning quick reaction by Rory! Andru: It seems as if Burke is slowing down! Dan: Devon Burke may indeed be getting tired! Both of these men have pushed it to the limits! Christianson focusing his attention on Devon! He picks sets him up! He nails him with The Great White North!! This one is over!! Rory is gonna win the Inoki Cup! Andru: He's got to cover him first! Dan: Christianson wasting some time, and he's applying the Cougar Leglock! Burke is down on his stomach, and Rory applying the hold! WAIT! Devon just rolled over and he pulled Christianson into a small package! ONE.....TWO... THR..NO!! Andru: I think referee Peter Kaplan was well out of position on that count! Dan: Both men getting back to their feet! Rory with a whip to the corner, reversed by Burke!! He nails him with a splash in the corner!!! And he follows up with a belly-to-belly suplex!! That's his "Splash & Dash"combo! Devon is giving the sign for the "Big D!" He's going for it! Christianson's got nowhere to go!!! Burke's got Rory's knees hooked in! He pulls back for the bridge! OH MY GOD! Christianson flipped out of it!! He flipped out of it backwards!! Both men to their feet!! Burke nails him with the Sun Devil Stinger out of nowhere!!! ONE.........TWO......... THREE!!!! Andru: I can't believe it. Andy: The winner of this contest, and first Inoki Cup Champion, "BIG D" DEVON BURKE!!! Dan: Devon Burke has won the Inoki Cup! What a match this was! Rory Christianson and Coach Hill must be upset with the outcome, but Rory really proved himself here tonight! He's earned the respect of a lot of people tonight, and he should be glad about that! Rory Christianson went through the very tough Daron Foley and then took "Golden Boy" Johnny Smith, a feat which only a handful of men have been able to do! It's certainly been a night of the young lions! So much great young talent on the rise in the AICW! Superstars like Rory Christianson, Daron Foley, Alex Raptor, Tom Corson, and Devon Burke, who won this contest with the Sun Devil Stinger, that great inverted DDT! It's been a great night folks and.... Oh no. What is this? Andru: You gotta be kidding me... Dan: "Golden Boy" Johnny Smith is coming down to ringside, and he's got a bottle of champagne in his hand! Devon Burke is celebrating in the ring, where the beautiful Inoki Cup has been placed! Burke is on the ropes,raising his hands for the crowd, and Johnny Smith is getting in the ring! Andru: Maybe he wants another whippin! Dan: Smith placing that champagne bottle next to the cup, and he's standing right behind Devon Burke! Devon stepping down from the ropes, and he turns around...OH NO!!! Johnny Smith slaps the Goldfinger on Devon!!! Devon is going out!! What a disgrace this is!!! Nobody is here to help Devon! Burke is passing out! He's down on the mat, and Smith releases the Goldfinger! Johnny Smith popping open that champagne bottle, and NO....NO..HE ISN'T!!!! He's pouring that champagne in the Inoki Cup!!! Listen to the disapproval of these fans!!! In all my years of following Japanese wrestling, I've never seen a crowd become this hostile towards ANYONE! What blatant disrespect shown by Johnny Smith here tonight!! This is a disgrace and an INSULT to Antonio Inoki, a national figure!! OH NO! SMITH IS DRINKING OUT OF THE INOKI CUP!!!! That champagne is pouring all over the ring!!! Smith....Smith is sub-human!! Andru: Didn't we already know that?! Dan: I can't believe he's doing this to the Inoki Cup!!! Johnny Smith has just disrespected Antonio Inoki and everything he stands for!! Smith has broken the harmony here at the Tokyo Thunder Festival!! He's placing the cup over Devon Burke's face! What a...what a sickening insult to everybody! AICW Commissioner Argie Otero is gonna have to take severe action against Johnny Smith! What a disgusting finish to what was so far a wonderful night!!
