Andy: The following opening-round match of the Inoki Cup tournament is set for one fall with a 30-minute time limit! Introducing first, from Tucson, Arizona, weighing in at 242 pounds, "Big D" Devon Burke!!! Dan: "Big D" getting quite an ovation here in the Tokyo Dome tonight! Burke is no stranger to these people, as his martial arts and shoot-fighting background has taken him to the Land of the Rising Sun before! Andru Edwards: Shoot-fighting and wrestling are two different ballgames. And for every Ken Shamrock there are a dozen no-names that think they can just waltz on into this business and make a name for themselves. It don't work that way. Dan: Certainly, winning the Inoki Cup here tonight would be a tremendous victory for Burke, and would without question establish his credibility here in the AICW! Andy: And his opponent... ("Juice/Know The Ledge" by Eric B. & Rakim starts up over the sound system.) Andy: ...about to make his way down the aisle, from Isla Nublar,weighing 225 pounds, Alex Raptor! (A half dozen Geisha girls, dressed in full Kabuki theatre make-up,daintily tip- toe their way towards the squared circle with Mr. Mishima.) Dan: Well, Alex Raptor certainly knows how to make an entrance! Andru Edwards: He's flashy, I'll give him that much... Dan: Well, the Geisha girls are in the ring, fans waving...but where's Raptor? (The camera closes in on one of the kabuki girls, who pulls a 12-pack of Frescas out of her kimono.) Dan: Wait a minute! What is this--? (It becomes apparent that this is no Geisha girl as he/she pulls a pillowcase out of "her" kimono sleeve and drops the soda cans into it.) Dan: That's no Geisha girl! What's going on here?! (The "Geisha girl" whacks Devon Burke in the kneecap with the loaded pillowcase as the rest of the kabuki girls leave the ring. We can plainly see as he takes off the kimono that this is Alex Raptor.) Dan: Oh no! Alex Raptor attacking Devon Burke before the bell! Andru Edwards: That was a good distraction tactic by Raptor! As for Burke, well...let's just say that the "Big D" stands for DUMMY! Dan: The referee calls for the bell, and Burke's limping on that leg! Raptor with a low pinpoint dropkick right to the knee, and Big D goes down! Now Raptor kicks at the knee! Andru Edwards: Smart wrestling by Alex Raptor, picking one part of the body and working on it! Dan: Raptor now slaps on an Indian deathlock, and Burke is in pain! Andru Edwards: Raptor seems to want to get this match over with as soon as possible, probably because he's not getting paid by the hour. He's a mercenary all the way--I like his style! Dan: Raptor's got the move locked in good! Burke's reaching for the ropes...can he make it? No, Raptor releases the hold and yanks on the leg! Now he drops down on the knee with an elbow! And another! He's just twisting on the ligaments in Big D's leg! James Roma, the official, asking Burke if he wants to give it up, but I would suggest that it's going to take more than that to put "Big D" out! Andru Edwards: Just to be in this business, you've got to have a high threshold of pain. The question here is, can Burke suck it up and reverse the momentum before his knee totally gives out on him? Dan: Burke reaches again for the ropes, fighting the pain as Raptor tightens his grip! Burke makes it to the ropes, and now James Roma attempts to break the hold, but Alex Raptor won't let go! Roma puts the count on him, and he finally breaks! Roma backs him off as Burke struggles to his feet! Raptor now with an Irish whip into the corner, and...dragon screw leg-whip by Alex Raptor! This could be it! Andru Edwards: If he hits that Prehistoric Plex, it's over for Devon Burke! Oh well, at least he can tell his folks he had his fifteen seconds off me! Dan: Raptor setting him up...but Burke with a roll-up!!!1.....2.... Kickout! Raptor never saw that one coming! Now Burke rolls out of the ring to recuperate! Andru Edwards: Raptor still wants to end this match quick, so he's following him out there! Dan: But Devon Burke is ready for him! Burke with a series of right- and left- handed chops, and now a roundhouse kick across the jaw sends Alex Raptor reeling! Burke picks Raptor up in a waistlock, and now rams him into the ringpost! Raptor's stunned, but Burke's knee gave out on that one! He's struggling to get back in the ring as the ref puts the count on both men! Andru Edwards: Raptor was maybe a little over-eager there, and he paid for it! He needs to take charge of this match and get back in the game! Dan: Burke's climbing back in the ring, and Raptor also on his way backin! Burke's back in, Raptor on the apron, and--springboard huracanrana by Raptor!! Nicely done!! 1...2...kickout by Burke! Raptor off the ropes, and a flying bodypress! Burke catches him, but it looks like the knee's giving out, and Raptor reverses it into a tombstone piledriver! But Burke is struggling! Burke slips out, and...SUN DEVIL STINGER!!! BOO-YA! He nailed him with that inverted DDT! Now he makes a cover, and James Roma in position...1...2. ..3!!! Andy: Ladies and gentlemen, here is your winner: Devon Burke!!! Dan: What a match, and what a win for "Big D"! Andru Edwards: Anybody can get lucky once! He's got to get through two more guys before the night's over, maybe then we'll see if he's got what it takes!
