AICW New Year's Revolution Sunday, January 25, 1998 Fleet Center, Boston, Massachusetts In memory of Bobo Brazil. (Part ONE) (Screen shows various frames of war scenes. They flash by very quickly. We see paintings of the Revolutionary War: General George Washington crossing the Delaware; the Boston Massacre; the Boston Tea Party. We can see World War I and World War II footage, Korean War footage, Gulf War footage, Vietnam War footage, all while Dan does a voice over. A standard military drum march plays in the background. Voice over (Dan): Since the beginning of their existence, men have fought each other in epic, bloody battles. Tonight, the AICW goes to war. TEN explosive battles will take place in the battlefield of the squared circle!!! The tune of "War Nerve" by Pantera blasts in the background now. We see the sickening image of Johnny Payne crashing through the table while superimposed on that is a shot of Henry Thunder destroying three young wrestlers. Next we see Johnny Smith getting his knee bashed in by the Demonweb. That image is quickly replaced by that of Martin X who we hear saying "..I have a dream!!!!...." That frightening sound echoes in our eardrums as we see the Saint preaching his word to the masses on the left of the screen while on the right, Ebola Zaire decimates JT Savage. Those shots are quickly replaced by that of Legion pounding away on Mark McMahon. We see Mark throw a dumbbell across a gymnasium as he screams "..RETRIBUTION!!!...." Those words blare out over and over again as we see Martin X and the Nubian Warriors preaching in front of the Skydome while Ice Cold's voice can be overheard saying "...What up wit dat?!!...." We are now bombarded with images of members of the Firm and the Township Rebellion brawling, interfering and taunting each other. We see Vic walk down the aisle slowly with his violin case. We see Joe Banno jump out of the crowd and attack Tuxedo Mask. Images from the battle royal are seen. Vic and Stephon T. Davis brawling in the aisle. Gino Valentini cracking Davis in the head with the violin case. Oswald Bates being eliminated from the ring. Mr. Lover Man taunting the fans. Those screens burn up slowly in flames and the shockingly unpleasant image of Kyle Bane attacking Kelly Lynn appears before our eyes. We see Byron Brady screaming outside the Rose Garden. Again the image of Mark McMahon tossing the dumbbell flashes by as he yells "....RETRIBUTION!!!...." Those words echo over and over again as a split screen image of Kyle Bane laughing uncontrollably on the left of the screen and Byron Brady shaking a steel cage violently on the right appear. Voice Over (Dan): Tonight, these two superstars will do battle inside of a 15-foot high steel cage!!!! One man is looking to defend his title as he has so successfully done, while the other is seeking AICW gold not to mention a little bit of sweet REVENGE!!! Tonight, the revolution will be televised...it will be a NEW YEAR'S REVOLUTION!!!! The montage explodes in a thunderous and chaotic fury as a bird's eye camera shot of the sold out Fleet Center spirals into view. We scan the crowd and see various signs such as "Do it for Kelly!!" "Mr. Y is a DEAD MAN!!!" "PPD...Champions 4-ever!" and "Fahgettabout the Firm!". Fireworks explode from all four corners of the ring as AICW announcer Andy Burton stands in the center of the ring with a big smile on his face. The NEW YEAR'S REVOLUTION logo appears on the video screen.) Andy: Are you in the mood for some ANARCHY?!!! (The fans respond enthusiastically.) Andy: I for one...am in the mood for a REVOLUTION!!! (The fans cheer again.) Andy: Please welcome your ringside commentators Dan "The Man" Chan and Dima "The Russian Powerhouse" Lerminskiy!!! (As generic AICW music plays, Dan and Dima come down the aisle. Dan has a big smile on his face as he greets the fans. He is wearing a black suit with a black bow-tie. Dima marches expressionless, wearing a "Let's hear it for Mother Russia!!" tee-shirt. Dan and Dima reach the broadcast position and face the camera.) Dan: Hello everyone and welcome to AICW's New Year's Revolution! I am Dan "The Man" Chan and with me tonight is Dima... Dima: THE RUSSIAN POWERHOUSE!!! Dan: ...Lerminskiy! What a night it's gonna be! Forget about having those VCR's rolling...TONIGHT IS A NIGHT YOU WILL NEVER FORGET!!! In our main event, AICW World Champion "The Demon" Kyle Bane will defend the belt against "Hard Line" Byron Brady! These two men have developed quite a hatred for each other and as a result of the interference that has gone on in matches between them, AICW Commissioner Argie Otero has sanctioned this match to take place in a 15-foot high STEEL CAGE!!! And although I try to call things down the middle, I hope that Brady takes the gold so we can see Mr. Y suffer the worst five minutes of his life!!! HA HA HAH!! Dima: Calm down! You are turning bright red! Besides, you should not show favoritism! Dan: What about the huge six man tag between The Firm and The Township Rebellion? Both of these teams will be out for blood! I've heard that we've had special security placed in the dressing room so that neither of these teams kills each other before their match! Dima: Figures! Americans have no patience! Dan: What about the tag team title situation?! The winner of the match between Gangstas and Prankstas and the Pain Connection will take on The Perfectly Perfect Duo for the titles! Dima: The PPD will have the edge no matter who they face. They will be fresh, while the other team will still be licking their wounds. Dan: The Nubian Warriors will be taking on the tandem of Ice Cold and Michael "Prime Time" Fulton! That should be a great one! Mark McMahon faces Legion in a match that could severely effect the International title division! Speaking of titles, Stephon T. Davis defends his Television title against "Pretty Boy" Troy Walcott! "Golden Boy" Johnny Smith faces longtime rival Martin X in his first match back since his knee injury! Ebola Zaire takes on the Saint! Now finally, Johnny Payne has not been cleared to face "Hardcore" Henry Thunder tonight! He's still in the hospital and still has no feelings below his waist. We wish him a speedy recovery. However, a replacement opponent has been found, and we will find out who that is very shortly. Thunder has been on a mean streak as of late, and I personally feel sorry for whomever his opponent is. Dima: If it is the great Slava Humphronov, Mr. Thunder will be the one who is sorry! Dan: Dima, I'm sorry to interrupt you but we've got something going on outside! Reba Kola is standing by on the street where "Hard Line" Byron Brady has arrived with his entourage! Reba: Thanks Dan! I'm here with Byron Brady, Mark McMahon and their manager Kelly Lynn! I'm gonna try to get a few words with them! (Mark and Byron step out of their car. Byron opens the door for Kelly Lynn. Kelly and Mark walk to the sidewalk, Byron stands in the street while Reba approaches him with the microphone. Just as Reba is about to speak, the sound of a sputtering motor gets louder off-screen. The camera shifts to the right to see an old, rusty golf cart with a large 'Y' roped to the top of the hood. One of the tires is obviously flat as we can see and hear the rubber slap against the pavement. It is travelling at about 10 miles per hour. Mr. Y sits in the driver's seat. Byron quickly gets out of the path of the "Y-Mobile" and confusingly stares at the comical sight of Mr. Y floating past him trying to apply the brakes.) Reba: What the hell are you doing?!! (Mr. Y finally manages to bring his awkward looking apparatus to a screeching halt. He stumbles out of the driver's seat and rapidly approaches Byron Brady. Just as Mr. Y is about to throw a sloppy elementary school playground fight style kick, he slips on the ice. He lands flat on his back and just lies there staring at the sky. Brady looks down at Mr. Y and holds up five fingers in his face before walking to the entrance of the arena. Mark McMahon and Kelly Lynn follow, leaving Reba standing near the still frozen Mr. Y.) Reba: So much for that interview! Dan, this is a mess....back to you. Dan: Thanks Reba! Let's not delay things any longer! Andy Burton is standing by for the introduction of our opening contest! Andy: This is a tag team contest scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, led to the ring by Christina O, at a total combined weight of 490 pounds, "Sadistic" Steven Dunne and "The Masochist" Danny Moore, THE PAIN CONNECTION!!! ("After the Flesh" by My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult plays throughout the arena.) Dan: Danny Moore exploding from out of the curtain! Here he comes running down the aisle shaking the barricades! Look at the fans seated along the aisle! They're moving away from the steel! Christina O. and Steven Dunne now emerging from behind the curtain! And here comes Danny Moore! He's right in front of us..WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!! (Danny Moore jumps on the broadcast table and begins harrassing Dan and Dima. They get up and leave the table while referee James Roma orders Moore to get in the ring.) Dan: I can't believe that guy! Dima: I should crush him right now! Dan: Now Dunne in the ring. What does his shirt say? Dima: Happiness in slavery?!! Maybe he should go to Russia. We are looking for people to work in the factories! Andy: And their opponents!!! (The fans pop.) Weighing in at a total combined weight of 550 pounds, The Gangsta and The Pranksta, GANGSTAS AND PRANKSTAS! Dan: The Gangsta is trying to rally this crowd! Listen to these people respond! Dima: What is this so-called Pranksta laughing at? Dan: I don't even know if HE knows what he's laughing at! (DING DING DING) Dan: The Pranksta and Danny Moore kicking New Year's Revolution off! Two great high-flyers! The Gangsta takes a swipe at Danny Moore and OH!!! It's a FULL MOON here in Boston!! The Pranksta just pulled Moore's shorts down!! Moore a little embarrassed, he steps back and collects himself! Here we go! They lock up and Moore, the bigger man, powering the Pranksta into the corner. Roma calling for a break, but Moore sneaks in an eye gouge! Moore will not hesitate to cheat. Now he's choking the Pranksta against the ropes! No high flying moves yet from these two. Roma pulling Moore off and he's already admonishing him for not breaking before the count. Moore whips the Pranksta to the ropes. The Pranksta back and Moore with a back body-drop! Moore celebrating in the ring and now he whips The Pranksta into the ropes once again. Pranksta ducks under a clothesline and hits the ropes again! Spinning leg lariat by the Pranksta!! Dima: Moore is not a quick thinker! Dan: Nice headlock takedown by the Pranksta! Moore struggling to position himself on the mat, but to no avail! Pranksta laughing hysterically! Now he breaks the hold and kicks Moore in the head! Moore ignores it and still tries to get to his feet. Pranksta now with a kick to the midsection. He sets up Moore. Vertical suplex by the Pranksta!! Well executed! There's a cover! ONE........TWO..... .........Dunne makes the save! Dima: That is the cheap way out! Dan: OH NO! Low blow by Moore! Moore makes the tag to Dunne as the Pranksta able to crawl over to make the tag to the Gangsta! Both men in and Dunne with an armdrag takedown on the big Gangsta! The Pain Connection is gonna have to keep the Gangsta on the mat! Dunne now with an elbow drop! He brings the Gangsta to his feet and he rakes the eyes! BOO-YAA! Open-hand palm strike to the throat! The Gangsta clutches his throat and stumbles backwards. OH NO! Inverted atomic drop to the crotch!! The Gangsta goes down! Dima: He is in some SERIOUS pain! Dan: Christina O looking very happy on the outside of the ring. The Pranksta is trying to encourage the Gangsta, who is still in pain! Dunne with a legdrop now and he makes a quick tag to Moore! Moore in and he puts a chokehold on the Gangsta! Roma laying the count on him and Moore breaks the hold just in time! Good teamwork so far from the Pain Connection! Dima: That is the key to victory! Dan: Moore getting up to the top rope and BOO-YAA..shooting star press off the top rope! ONE.....TWO....NO!! The Gangsta kicks out with authority! Now he whips the big man to the ropes, reversal by the Gangsta! Moore goes for a flying body press but the Gangsta catches him! He brings him down with a powerslam and OH NO! Dunne enters the ring and nails the Gangsta with a low blow! The Pain Connection are getting away with a lot of illegal moves! Dima: It's only cheating if you get caught! Dan: Moore going to the corner, he makes the tag into Steven Dunne! Dunne comes in and he goes for a Russian leg sweep! The Gangsta blocks it and turns it into an atomic drop!! The Gangsta now with a bulldog!! Listen to these fans! The Gangsta is pumped up! He's raising his arms up and down in the air!! OH MY!!! Gorilla press by the Gangsta! What power!! There's a tag to the Pranksta! They're going for Showtime!! Dima: This is all because Dunne cannot properly execute a Russian leg sweep! Dan: Christina O has just jumped up on the apron! She's distracting James Roma and now Danny Moore is climbing up to the top rope! He grabs hold of the Pranksta! The Pranksta was about to go for the moonsault! OH NO! BOO-YAA!!! Danny Moore brings the Pranksta "Over the Edge"!! Steven Dunne now with a jawbreaker on the Gangsta!! Moore brought the Pranksta out of the ring with a superplex!!! The Pranksta landed on the mat, but he's not moving and neither is Moore, whom I think took the worst of it!!! He's sprawled out on top of the steel steps!! Dunne now tosses the Gangsta out of the ring! He goes to the outside and peels the Pranksta off the mat!! Dima: He is like a pancake! Dan: He rolls the Pranksta in the ring and covers him!! Christina O now jumps off the apron and Roma turns around! ONE..........TWO.......... THREE!!! The Gangsta couldn't get in the ring on time! What a miscarriage of justice! Andy: The winners of this contest, at a time of 11 minutes and 25 seconds, THE PAIN CONNECTION!!! Dan: That was quite an incredible match to start things off, and if it's any indication of what the rest of the matches will be like then we are in for one INTENSE night!!
