FLYING SPINS

Flying Camel--A jump into a camel spin.

Death Drop--Popularized by Brian Boitano, this is a flying spin similar to a flying camel, but the skater immediately drops into a sit spin.

Arabian or Butterfly--a jumping move similar to the entrance of a flying camel, but without the spin afterwards. Canadian skater Elvis Stojko likes to perform about six or seven in a row, then transition into a scratch spin.

OTHER MOVES

Spiral--Skated on one foot, with the free leg extended and held higher than hip level. View Nicole Bobek's spiral.

Spread Eagle--Skated on both feet with toes pointing in opposite directions. Very effective when a skater leans back on the edges of his/her skates.

Ina Bauer--A variation of the spread eagle where one knee is deeply bent and the back leg is stretched behind the body. A skater may perform this move with an arched back.

TURNS

Mohawk--A two-footed front-to-back or back-to-front turn. A mohawk involves turning from an edge on one skate to the same edge on the other skate. Commonly used in a simple turn or a step sequence.

Choctaw--A two-footed front-to-back or back-to-front turn. Unlike the Mohawk, the Choctaw involves turning from an edge on one skate to another edge on the opposite skate. Used in ice dancing programs quite often.

Three Turn--A one-foot turn that is called such because it leaves an imprint on the ice that looks like a 3. Performed in a program mainly before a Salchow jump.

Other one-foot turns include rockers, counters, and brackets.
