This page is to help those of you who need help with some
of your bboy moves. Soon all of the moves that are in the Bboy Dictionary will be here in the Hint Dictionary. Hope they help.

- Practice doing handstands first.
Then practice turning around

- Practice your balance on one hand first
To get good spin, drive with your legs
- AirSwipe
- Put your hands down before you lift your feet of the ground
If you are doing the airswipe to your right, the left leg comes off the ground first, and the right leg comes off first if you are going to your left
- Applejacks
- Start on your feet with your body crunched down
Kick your legs in the air before you plant your hands
If you are doing a two-legged applejack spread your legs wide
When your feet come back down, lift your hands off the ground
- Backspin
- Spin closer to the top of your back
When you swing your leg to get speed, spin it all the way in a half circle and tuck it close to your body.
Tuck your legs and arms as close to your body as possible.
- Backswipe
- Practice improving your basic airswipes
Then when you have the airswipes down do this: When you are doing a airswipe and you are half way through in the air, stop. Then return back to your starting position.
This move takes practice, but is is tight when you get it down.
- Boston Crab
- You have to be able to do the crab well
You have to be able to do the middle splits all the way or at least almost
Keep arms almost staight
- Bronco
- When you go from your feet to your hands, make sure your feet are off the ground when your hands touch
Then kick your legs and push with your arms to get back to your feet.
Make sure your hands are already off the ground when your feet touch again.
- Combinations
- In order to execute a combination your moves must go in the same direction. Either clockwise or counter-clockwise.
- Crab
- Same Hints/tips as a turtle, just bend your legs in.
- Fist Glide
- You have to be able to do a handspin
If you can do a handspin, just instead of spinning on your hand, close your fist and spin on it
Put something slippery under your hand like a touqe or a piece of cloth, or if you are wearing a sweater pull the sleave over your hand
- Flare
- Keep your legs high and spread them
For faster speed take drive with your legs
Try not to keep your legs in back of you too long
Also be quick with your hands, place them steady
- Float
- Work on your balance in that position
Tuck your elbows in hips or stomach
Bend legs if you have to for balance
- Freezes
- Make up your own freezes, they add a lot to your style
Try to go into a freeze when someone would least expect it, like out of a hard move.
- Hand Glide
- Put the elbow of the hand you are going to spin on in your stomach
Use a cloth or something to help your hand spin
Before beginning spinning practice balancing on one hand until you can balance well without falling
- Headspin
- Keep your legs stiff
Use your arms and legs to gain speed
When your first starting to learn this move start in a headstand and practice from there.
- Helicopter
- Keep the leg that is going around straight
Keep the other leg that you are on bent
- Hollowback
- Practice doing a plain handstand untill you can do it well
Then bend your legs backwards
- Kip-Up
- Build up tricep muscles
Use legs to bring you up
Kick high in the air and away from your body
- Rubber Band
- You have to be able to do a Kip-Up well
After you do 1 Kip-Up fall onto your back and Kip-Up again
- Side Glide
- Practice balancing in position
Place elbow in your hip
Start slowly at first
Then pick up speed as you get better
- Turtle
- Keep your hands close together(not too close)
When first attempting go slow, then build up speed
Don't lean forward too much or you will lose your balance and fall forward while turning.
- Windmill
- Spread your legs and keep them stiff
Keep your hips up
Try to stay on the smallest area on your back as you can
When you get turned around to your stomach push up with your forearm or hand, this way you can get back to your shoulders
When you get to your shoulders start all over and keep goin.
