I first saw Steffi Graf play against Martina Navratilova at the 1987 U.S. Open. I was very impressed with her great athletisms and her evident stardom in the near future. I have been a Graf fan since. I collect any and all articles on Steffi. I have a room full of pictures and articles on her. I'm just sorry and saddend that I never had the chance to see her play in person. When she competed at a Houston, Texas tournament, I was unable to attend but I did read the results the following day in the pap r. I am a true die-hard Steffi fan. I was very very sad on Graf's retirement because for me she's still the best woman player in an open era!!! I was devastated by my idol's decision to retire. I was really hoping that very soon I could have the chance to actually see her play 'live'. This has been one of my greatest 'tennis dreams'. Just when trips abroad would almost be very possible for me to o and I was really hoping to catch one of her games. Grand Slam tournaments will no longer have an appeal to me. hi, i started liking and loving s.graf just three years ago when i saw her play at the french open with her knee injury which she was eliminated, but even though she did not win for three years i was given time to know her more, which, i find it difficult with the limited resources the philippines have for tennis players so i wind up at the internet and newspapers so that i could see her almost everyday to check how she played with the pictures i have cause i do believe that your picture reflects on how you feel that very day. But when she won her 6th french open title i've never felt euphoric in my life as if i want to talk to everybody about her. i like her because she is mainly very humble player in tennis and a very talented one.... one in a billion.

So I thought that I had better make us look a little better by supporting Steffi Graf, the best womens tennis player on the face of this planet and the best one that an one will ever see, EVER!!!! I just cannot believe my eyes! Steffi got off to such a lovely start and all her shots were so lethal that she was all over Seles in the first 8 games. Then suddenly things changed. I think she became little cautious in going for her shots. Seles looked m re focused and determined throughout the second set. One happy thing to note: Steffi looked healthy and fit throughout Australian Open. I wanted Steffi to start her Grand Slam win from our place. It is OK. I just completed one of the best tennis weeks of my life here in Pennsylvania! This past Tuesday I was privileged to see all four of 1998's grand slam winners in action at the Advanta Championships, and then on Thursday I gritted my teeth through the Gra /Likhotseva 3-setter, and was fortunate enough to get Steffi to sign my U.S. Open "Game, Set, Unmatched" coffee-table book right across the Legend section photograph of Steffi and her German Shepherd. Needless to say, I went back again on Friday to watch brat Hingis mock Steffi's forehand in the first set (the cameras didn't show this), only to go on and lose to a satisfied Graf 6-0 in the third. Not quenched, I went down again on Saturday for the Graf/Tauziat debacle to complete the greatest Graf week o my life to date. I'm still replaying the tape of the final!!! Hi, Since we don't have a chat facility, Am expressing my views through this after Steffi's defeat against Anna Kournikova. With 15 months away from court and no match practice, I expected a wash out (i.e AK winning in straight sets). But to my surprise, the match was a keenly contested one stretched over 2 hours! This proves a point that SG is back with determination and not t all going to be easy to deal with! In a way, the defeat is a blessing in disguise as SG can take some time to think about a strategy and tune her up for Wimbledon. Playing competitive tennis for two hours against the new sensation is itself a good news or Steffi. Am sure she will peak up at Wimbledon. I didn't get a chance to see this match. But I read in papers that SG was furiated against line calls. UN-typical of SG! Probably the line calls would have costed her the match. Can anyone throw some light on this? How was he overall performance? A message to SG: One person from whom SG can draw inspiration at this moment is Michael Jordan. At 35, he did the "magic" to win the 6th NBA title for the bulls! I have been a fan of Steffi's for 12 years now and i'm disgusted that people are writng her off Does'nt her record speak for itself..? As for Martina Hinghis she's certainly no Navratalova and i'd like to see if she's still around in 5 years time let alone 12 and still be doing what she's been doing. Steffi is a formidable force in Tennis and goes without saying that she's the hardest wo king female athelte alive. She's overcome injury after injury battled with personal problems, a stalker and god knows what else! and she's still here! No she may not be no 1 any more on a computer...but how many people can say they've acheived what she has through the face of adversity and public ridicule? Give her a break she's only human and don't count her out in wimbledon this year..she's fighting back with avengence and if this is her last stand then i personally take my hat off to her because a lady always knows when to leave!

I've been a hugh Steffi Graf fan since seeing her win the 1992 Wimbledon final. I've never seen Steffi play live and in person but have managed to see all her grand slam matches on T.V. since the 1992 Wimbledon. I have the utmost admiration for Steffi's total dedication each time she steps onto the tennis court, and the amazing success she has had despite all her injuries and personal problems. Graf does not have the range of shots that Hingis does. Her backhand is no weapon at all, her vollies are poor, and there is little subtlety and variety in her game. She relies solely on strength and power and her forehand to win matches. If she overtakes Hingis in the rankings then it will be a victory for athleticism over pure tennis. Nonethelesss, I hope she recovers from injury, and recaptures her best form. If she does, then I am sure she will beat Martina at Wimbledon.

I find that you've done a good job but i have problems e-mailing you in order to command some videotapes. Otherwise, i'm really sad because Steffi's gonna retire so early...And i think that she could have made an effort to come to Paris, where she played some of her greatest matches, to say goodbye to her fans eventhough she might not be in a shape that allow her to win the title.
