Up From The Roots is an entertainment business that has been revolutionizing Toronto’s urban entertainment scene for the past five years. From talent shows to plays, Up From The Roots has done it all. The group consists of eight members, six of whom are performers in dance, poetry, r & b, and hip hop. Individually the members of the group have performed across Canada, and are now looking to unify their efforts and bring audiences quality entertainment that only Up From The Roots can provide.


Congratulations to Lorraine Reid on her 5th Juno nomination and May 4th 1999 marks the release of the sophmore Temperance album featuring the vocals of the diva herself. Lorraine is featured on the cover of this month's Mic Check Magazine. Big Congratulations to Dwayne Morgan on 1000 copies of his first book sold! Long Overdue, the new book of poetry by Dwayne Morgan continues to sell off of store shelves. Watch out for our celebration of dance on Friday July 9, inside the Fairview Library Theatre, and Dwayne Morgan's one man show "Breaking All The Rules #2" Friday July 23rd. Also support the WordLife Poetry CD Compilation, where Dwayne recorded Black Fugitives. Kesha Wint tears it up on Orin Isaccs new album Where I'm from. Kesha laces her ear pleasing vocals on "I Like It". The album features artists such as Kaybe, Kardinal Offishall, Danian Vickers, D-Sisive, Rhyno, Cheryl Joseph, Kuya, S-Luv, Black Katt and Victor Wooten.
