1967-1985: the tournaments were called "Metropolitano" and "Nacional", and

1985-1990: "Apertura" (opening) and "Clausura" (closing) tournaments  were
played and the two first places played for the championship.
1990-present: "Apertura" and "Clausura" are considered two different tournament.
