Packer vs Tampa at Lambeau

1/4/98 Packer dominate Bucs 21-7

The Green Bay Packers sent the Tampa Bay Buccaneers home earlier than expected Sunday at Lambeau Field. Dorsey Levens led the way rumbling for 112 yards and a touchdown. 88 of Levens' yards came in the second half. Brett Favre had a sub-par day but still managed to put the Packers in scoring position enough times to win the game. He was not aided by 5 dropped balls, including a sure touchdown to William Henderson that resulted in a Ryan Longwell field goal. The defense rattled Trent Dilfer and the bucs potent backfield duo of Dunn and Alstott. Gilbert Brown's comeback was huge for the Pack as they yielded around 3 yards a carry. Although Tyrone Williams allowed a few long balls the secondary kept up it's stellar play holding Dilfer to 11 of 36 passing. The special teams came alive with a Antonio Freeman TD return that was negated b y a foolish Darren Sharper penalty. Robert Brooks also played well returning punts.
