WESTERN FINALS

GAME DAY PREVIEWS
GAME 2:
#2 DALLAS STARS vs #4 COLORADO AVALANCHE
Colorado leads 1-0
Game time: Monday May 15th, 2000 7pm at Dallas
With home-ice advantage now on their side, the Colorado Avalanche look to steal a second game at Reunion Arena on Monday night when they battle the Dallas Stars in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. Milan Hejduk and Aaron Miller scored and Patrick Roy made 24 saves for his 14th playoff shutout as Colorado opened the series Saturday with a 2-0 triumph. Hejduk missed the final three games of last year's Western Conference finals against Dallas with a broken collarbone.
Roy, who has a 1.53 goals-against average, tied Jacque Plante for second place for most playoff shutouts. The record of 15 is held by Clint Benedict, who set the mark with the defunct Montreal Maroons and the Ottawa Senators.
Peter Forsberg added an assist to run his points streak to eight games with five goals and four assists for the Avalanche, who have outscored their opponents 9-4 over their last three games -- all without injured defenseman Ray Bourque.
Bourque has what he termed "a minor knee injury" and could be back in the lineup tonight. Rookie Martin Skoula has been his replacement.
The loss snapped the Stars' eight-game home postseason winning streak, which dated to last year's Stanley Cup Finals. Dallas also dropped Game One of last season's conference finals before beating Colorado in seven games.
The Stars have not been shut out in back-to-back playoff contests since the 1992 Norris Division semifinals against Detroit. They have not been down 2-0 in a series since the 1995 Western quarterfinals against the Red Wings.
With singing star Tina Turner performing in Denver on Wednesday, Game 3 will not be until Friday at the Pepsi Center.
