2)Back Kick
Back kick is prefered for counterattacking when there is less rist in turning back to the opponent. In initiative attacking, the back kick should be long and penetrating, while for counterattacking it must be short and quick. To execute the back kick, pivot on the front while chambering the back leg. Quickly look over the turning shoulder at the opponent's movement. Turn the body slightly toward the target while the kicking foot passes by the supporting knee in a direct line to the target. Keep the upper body erect during the execution for maximum efficiency. The taeget for back kick is the trunk.
3) Axe Kick
Axe kick has 2 main variations, bent knee kicking and straight knee kicking. Te execute the bent knee axe kick, chamber the knee and unfold it in a downward direction, beginning at the highest point of the kicking trajectory. To execute the straight knee axe kick, lift the leg straight up at a slightly off center angle and drop it on the target. Both kicks can be used as inside kicking or outside kicking, defined by the relative position of your leg to the opponents body. The striking surface of the foot is the sole or heel and the target is the face.
4) Hook Kick
The Hook kick can be executed with the lead or rear leg. For the lead leg hook kick, chamber the leg in front of the body and release it in a circular motion. For the rear leg whip kick, the body must 1st turn 180 degrees to chamber the leg in front. The sole of the foot is used to strike the face.
5)Spin Hook Kick
The Spin Hook kick must be executed quickly and accurately to be efficient and powerful. To execute the spin hook kick, pivot on the front leg and chamber the rear leg. As the body spins around, release the kicking leg in a circular motion. During the spinning movement, quickly look at the opponent over turning shoulder. The sole of the foot is used to strike the face.
6) Side Kick
The Side kick is most effective when used as a front leg attack from side stance. Chamber the leg and thrust it toward the target in a direct linear movement. The sole or edge of the foot is used to strike the trunk.
7) Front Kick
The Front kick is rarely used in competition because the potential for injury to the ball of the foot and toes is great. To execute the front kick, chamber the knee and simultaneously thrust the foot to the target in a linear motion. The ball of the foot is used to strike the trunk and face.
