Red Sox Rant January 2001

Oh god..I stand SO corrected

Red Sox Rant 30th November 2000

Alright Dan, I have supported you for a bit now but why, oh why didn't we throw the shop at Mussina and get him behind Pedro in the rotation?! Maybe you have some sort of grand master plan where we get Manny Ramirez instead, and if that's the case is he gonna play DH? I like Nixon's 'run through the walls' attitude in right.

Spring Training Notes 3rd March

Trot Nixon looks really rested and relaxed, how about the kid hitting 30 dingers in 2000? Nomar has got to tone down his Navy SEAL like traning regime to try and avoid some of these niggly little injuries he keeps picking up. Word on the street is Rod Beck is throwing hard and may possibly give Lowe a run for his money in the closer stakes. Varitek hit a 424 foot home run with his first swing of his first bp session. He has, by his own admission, bulked up over the winter. Does Marty Cordova look strong or what...? That guy has arms bigger than my legs. Speaking of big, I want a glass of whatever Nomar was drinking over the winter, beefcake! Nomar had a body fat percentage of 5.5 last year, he's down to 5% this summer. Wow. I think I'm at 35% or something.

Check out my massive Red Sox Y2K Spring Training Gallery!

* New Faces for 2001? NONE right now, the Sox seem to be LEAKING Free Agents, and Dave Nilsson failed his medical so wont be joining Boston any time soon.

New England Patriots Sox Poll Results

* The results of the first 'New England Patriots Socks' Red Sox web site poll, the question, 'With Vaughn Gone who will be the Sox big bopper in 1999?' and 49% of you said Nomar Garciaparra, 14% thought Val and a suprising 12% thought rookie Trot Nixon would be smashing ALLOT more balls over the Green Monster than he currently is...

* Results of the second 'New England Patriots Socks' Red Sox web site poll: The Question was, which player would help out the Red Sox most in 1999. Well, its true, chicks do dig the long ball. 29% of over 300 voters said Mark McGwire and a hefty 21% said Samuel Sosa! Next best was Randy Johnson at 15% followed by old friend Maurice Vaughn at 11%. Believe it or not 3% of those who voted want Roger Clemens back!! Thanks to all who voted!

Old News!

* Does it rock or does it rock that Nomar got voted to the All Star game ahead of Jeter? Congratulations to everyone who voted for the 'Kid'

* Batteries, Coke cans and other throwable items should be half price at all drug stores around Fenway next time that umpiring crew are in town.

*Did you know Jose Offerman is an anagram of 'Major Offense'?

* Sorry to see Jim Corsi go, hope he finds a job somewhere soon and hope the Sox don't regret letting an experienced, good natured player go.
