Grand Master Dale Drouillard, 9th Dan
Grand Master Dale Drouillard began his training
while he was with the United States Army in Korea in 1958. At that
time, very few Americans had ever heard of karate. Master Drouillard
started his training under Grand Master Hwang Kee, who was impressed by
his eagerness to learn and train. Coming to class early and staying
late was the norm for Master Drouillard. He became the first American
to attain the coveted black belt in Tang Soo Do.
Upon his return to Michigan, he started the first Moo Duk Kwan School
at the Downriver YMCA in Wyandotte, Michigan in 1961. He has been
instructing ever since, promoting and teaching thousands of students.
His rewards have been many, not only from his students, but from Korea
and Grand Master Hwang Kee.
