Nobility of Myriador

Nobles of the Realm of Myriador:

Noble Titles, Modifiers, & Bonus: Nobility in this Realm is strictly a ROLE-PLAYING aspect. Nobility can be obtained in the following ways: Fighting for Nobility: Fighting for Nobility is done by challenging an existing Noble to an honor duel & them accepting the challenge. Nobles are not bound to accept every challenge nor to fight the battle personally. This is your first & foremost chance to Role-play your character. Their accepting your challenge is viewed as them accepting you as an equal & therefore worthy of consideration of Nobility. If accepted, you then give your written petition to the Noble who accepted your challenge, in which they in turn sponsor you to the Board for Nobility. This petition should be a formal declaration of intent to fight for a title, & should also justify the petitioner as a worthy challenger. Inclusion of a brief character history is also recommended. If your challenge is accepted by the Noble of the Realm, & your character has 25 battle credits, & a minimum of AC-4 full suit of armor, then your written petition must be given to the Board by the Noble who has accepted your challenge & is sponsoring you. At this point, the Board will judge whether or not the candidate has good persona, behaves honorably towards, & contributes positively to the Club. Only those with the best armor, role-playing, & costume will be considered. If the petition is accepted by the Board, it is then forwarded to the Executive Cabinet for finalization. If the petition is approved by the Cabinet, then they will select a Noble that the petitioner must be a squire to for 180 days. During the petitioners time as a squire the Cabinet can select trials, quests, and/or a Champion from the ranks of existing Nobles or any of the clubs members; setting the times & places for the challenges and/or battle to occur. These titles & their counterparts are found in the Realm:

1.) KNIGHT ERRANT (Lord/Lady), 2.) KNIGHT (Sir), 3.) BARON, 4.) COUNT,

5.) VISCOUNT, 6.) EARL, 7.) DUKE, 8.) PRINCE, 9.) KING

THESE TITLES MAY BE USED ONLY BY THOSE HONORED BY THE CLUB AS NOBLES.

Honorary Titles: Honorary Titles are appointed by the Executive Cabinet & are just like other Nobles titles & for the same reasons, but they are not fought for. An Honorary Title can be given by the Executive Cabinet or petitioned for from a Noble. This petition should justify the petitioner as worthy, & must include a brief character history, & your character must have at least 25 battle credits. The petitioner must get a Noble to first accept their petition, once accepted the Noble will pass on the written petition to the Board of Trustees, who will accept or reject the petition. If the petition is accepted by the Board then it is forwarded to the Executive Cabinet for finalization. During this process the petitioner is squired to the Noble sponsoring their petition. An Honorary Title can be granted to a person who deserves it, but who may not meet the aforementioned requirements or who does not want to fight for the title. The Board of Trustees may recommend worthy candidates to the Executive Cabinet for consideration of an Honorary Title. An Honorary Title holder is a Noble with all the same privileges as other Nobles. Honorary Title holder can also gain higher ranking noble titles.

Upon obtaining Nobility, a member has a few choices. Basically to continue being a part of the team they are on or join one, or become their own Noble Realm. Members may only have one character that has a Noble Realm, & if any other of their characters obtain Noble status that character must join the first Noble characters Noble Realm. If you chose to continue being part of a team or join one, as a Noble you forfeit certain privileges. 1) No Men-at-Arms. 2) No Personal Account. 3) No representative or vote in the U.N.. 4) Will still be given a Castle & 1 hex of land, but the revenue goes to team they belong to & they may not extend their land holdings. 5) War can be declared upon them by any Country/State/Noble Realm as part of the team they are on, unless they join another Noble Realm. If you chose to become a Noble Realm, by the grace of the Club, a member, will be given a Castle & 1 hex of land to place it on. This will be considered as their capital hex which can never be taken & occupied. The land can be spoiled & the fortification ransacked. In addition, they will be allowed the privilege of having their own personal account. A Noble may extend their land holdings only to the immediate surrounding hexes that border their Castle hex with the exception of land hexes taken during war. Nobles have representation in the U.N. & 1 vote. They also are able to have Men-at-Arms up to 10. They can declare war only upon other Nobles as well as have war declared upon them only by other Nobles. Nobles gain revenue for owning land. Nobles have all the privileges as a Country/State, but do not have to fulfill Land Rule status requirements. With Nobility also comes responsibilities. A Noble must sustain their status by continuing to have exceptional costumes denoting their station, being prepared to fight to uphold their honor upon being challenged, & above all to continue to uphold the high standards of the club by always striving to be the best of the best in this game through role-playing & combat. Any Noble that falls from grace will lose all noble privileges granted to them by the club.
