At least it wasn't raining, it usually does on a Worthy night. I decided to have a quick pint of Guinness in Muldoon's- no Reebok Happy Hour. Outside someone told me that I'd be the only one at the match. Last season, a bus driver told me that I should be certified for going, but it was raining then. 1st half: Dullsville! No crowd, no atmosphere, no play (from Bolton). Highlight of the night was half time. Thank you Mr Referee! Nothing of note, really. Fish made a good tackle from the start and Farrelly had a shot from distance. The silkmen played some neat passing football and had quite a vocal crowd behind them, but how many times have you heard, "W**** Wanderers!", from our neighbouring opposition supporters. Yawn! Time for a hotdog at the interval. Interesting preparation. A baguette is impaled on a spike and a large sausage is allowed to slide into the resulting cavity. Tasted OK. 2nd half: More of the same. Banks had more work to do, though. Relief came when Farrelly's cross found Holdsworth and Deano made no mistake with a bullet header. Silence in the Macclesfield encampment. They now know their fate. A bus ride home, no point waiting for trains at night. |
