The first half saw Chelsea keep possestion well and basically keep the ball from Skonto.
These were the tactics, made hard by a terrible pitch full of pot holes which the groundstaff filled with sand to get the the pitch playable.
Flo had a great header saved which was goal bound, but the goalkeeper managed to get his hand to, and turn over the bar for a corner.
Flo later had another shot that just passed the post from a acute angle after going round the defender with ease.
Mikeal Forssell also making his first team debut this season was also very impressive and had a couple of shots from distance saved by the goalkeper Kolinko.
The defence were again solid, with Marcel Desailly in Immaculate form.
The second half saw Chelsea continuing to keep the ball well with some swift interchanging passes.
Skonto looking dangerous down the flanks with Rubens becoming a threat, but there was know way he was going to go round "The Rock".
Marcel was sheperding the defence and making timely tackles all over the place and his timing was out of this world.
He quite rightly warrants my man of the match vote for a faultless performance.
