Chapter 1

Lindsay was driving home from a long, hard day at work. She was so tired, she felt like a zombie. She was adjusting the sound on her radio when she got the strange feeling that she was being watched. The feeling sent a shiver up her spine. She looked into the rear-view mirror. Nothing was there. Nothing in her car, nobody following her, just nothing. She decided to just shrug the feeling off. She went back to adjusting the sound on her radio. She listened to the sounds of a saxophone play for the rest of the ride home.

As she pulled into her driveway, she noticed that a sound was missing. Her dog, Moe was usually barking. "Oh no," she sighed, "not again." Her home had already been burglarized once before; that was one of the reasons why she bought the dog in the first place. He was a big Rottweiler. She started to feel nervous as she stepped out of her car. It was dark outside except for the dim glow of her porch light, although it only lit up the area just around her front door.

As she neared the door she saw a set of glowing eyes. Since Moe was gone, she began to get scared. "Great time for that dog to go and get himself lost," she muttered. Just then, a shadowy figure started to make its way toward her with lightning speed. Suddenly, she was on the ground being licked to death. "You know you really scared me," she said as she looked at Moe. She reached out, patted his head, and told him to come on. She walked up the steps and pulled out her keys. She opened the door and walked in, with Moe lumbering behind her. She flicked the switch on the wall, turning on the lights. Walking forward, she threw her jacket on the couch and walked into the kitchen. First, she fed Moe. Then she went to the refrigerator to find something to eat. Since it was late and she didn't feel like cooking, she decided on having a sandwich. After making the sandwich, she went back out to sit on the couch. Before she sat down, she looked back into the kitchen to check on Moe. He had his head buried in his bowl. "Boy, he must have really been hungry," she said. Picking up the remote, she switched on the television. She was in the mood for a few laughs, so she turned to a cartoon show. Tom and Jerry were destroying another house. She chuckled as they demolished everything in sight.

Suddenly, she got that feeling again. The feeling that she was being watched. She looked into the kitchen to see Moe with his head still buried in his bowl. She felt a little relieved, although she still felt as though she were being watched. She turned the television down low and got up from the couch. As she began to turn around, she felt a huge lump beginning to form in her throat. When she finally turned around, she saw nothing. Nothing except for the long hallway that led to her bedroom. As she came to the beginning of the hallway, she hit a switch on the wall. The entire hallway became dimly lit with a few shadowy areas here and there. The first door was on her left was the bathroom. The door was slightly cracked. She pushed it open to reveal ... nothing. "Just great, now I'm getting paranoid, and for what? Nothing," she thought to herself.

Before she went any further, she called Moe to her side. "Moe. Here boy," she called. He was at her side within seconds. He began to move forward with his head low to the floor as he sniffed his was down the hallway. He stopped, sniffing the area around her bedroom door. "What is it boy?" she asked him as she walked to him and patted his head. He looked up at her and proceeded to let out a small whimper. She wondered what could possibly be behind her door. "Well, gotta go in."

Slowly she opened the door. First she peeked her head in and looked around. Then, she walked in and made sure that Moe was right beside her. She ran her hand up the wall and turned on the light. She looked around and saw nothing. She walked to the window that was across from where she stood. She opened it and looked out. She turned around and checked the room once more. As she looked out the window, she saw nothing unusual. She closed the window and turned around. The room was dark, but she knew she had turned the light on. She looked around for Moe, but he wasn't there. Looking from left to right, she saw no sign of him. When she looked directly in front of her, what she saw almost made her scream.

Chapter 2

There was a huge man in front of her. He was clad in red and black and wore a matching mask over his face. As she tried to back away, he grabbed her. A gloved hand caught her by her wrist. Lindsay felt almost helpless. She hated the feeling of helplessness. She never considered herself to be a small woman, but next to this huge man, she felt like a mouse. A mouse that had been caught by a cat.

As the man held her, he looked directly into her eyes. His eyes were a cloudy blue color. They were unlike anything she had ever seen before. In his eyes, she saw so many different emotions. She saw anger, pain, confusion, and for some reason, fear. Then, all of sudden, he dropped his hold on her. Lindsay was confused. She stood there looking at him. For some reason he began to back away from her. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. As he backed away, a mist began to rise around him. As the mist rose around him, he began to disappear. "Wait!" she shouted. It was too late. He was already gone.

She let out a long sigh and walked over to her bed for a nice long nap. She had a dream-filled sleep. She dreamt about the strange man. How he said nothing, but managed to awaken feelings in her. How it felt when he had touched her. His grip wasn't painful, but it wasn't gentle either. Most of all, she dreamt about those beautiful eyes of his. Those cloudy blue eyes that peered from behind his red and black mask. The boyish eyes that were filled with so many emotions. How they had stared into her so questioningly. Come to think of it, she had a few questions of her own. Why did he wear the mask, why did he drop his hold on her when he did? These questions and many more went through her head as she slept.

The next sound she heard was the sound of her alarm clock going off.
