Last nignt, Mike snapped his tether and traded Scott Lachance to the Canadiens in exchange for a 3rd round draft pick in 1999. The trade wouldn't have bothered me so much if the Isles would've gotten in return, oh, Mark Recchi or something! But a 3RD ROUND DRAFT PICK?? How's this gonna help the team in the immediate future? My guess is that Mike has given up on this season completely and is already thinking about off-season rebuilding......Okay, that's what I hope at least.
Mike hinted to the media that this may be the only trade he makes before the March 23 deadline. I guess he can't find another team stupid enough to give the Isles a decent player in return for Tommy Salo. Would you? Anyways, I'm gonna miss ol' Scott. Of course, this is not the 1st time Mike has shipped out a player I really liked. The only thing I'll ever hold against Mike is when he sent my favorite player Darius Kasparaitis off to the evil Nazi camp otherwise known as the Pittsburgh Penguins. *sigh*
