Daniel Vettori
Player Profile
Left arm orthodox spinner
Left hand batsman
Northern Districts

Born: 27th January 1979
After only 2 first class games for his province, Northern Districts, Daniel Vettori found himself thrown into the New Zealand national team at only 18 years of age.
New Zealand's spin wizard has already taken 50 test wickets, and several 5 wicket hauls, including a best 6-64 against Sri Lanka last year.
He was orginally left out of the one-day squad but his maturity later demanded his inclusion and Vettori has proven he should be there.
With his lazy locks and glasses, Vettori doesn't suit the image of a seasoned international cricketer, but that is what he is.
His batting is nothing to be frowned at. His highest test score is 90 against Zimbabwe and he has also racked up several half-centuries in the longer form of the game. He often volunteers for the nightwatchman
role for the team. His batting is often looked forward too in the one-day internationals. His delightful cameos at the end of the innings are always exciting and entertaining.
He is now 20 years old, and is one of the familiar faces of the team, and will probably be for a long while to come.
